In 2020, I was in a serious car accident that resulted in spinal damage.

Because of that, I needed wheelchair assistance EVERY single time I flew all the way until 2025. It was SHOCKING to see just how differently I was treated, depending on the airport. I was beyond embarrassed, especially with how vulnerable I felt being unable to move independently.

At the same time, some airports (like this one) were incredible.

Even if YOU don't need assistance, consider how it may be for your grandparents or someone with a disability or serious injury.

We all deserve dignity.

Every year on Remembrance Day I like to take some time to reflect on the lives of those who have committed to protecting and serving others. To honour those who gave up their lives, who were lost in conflict, who never made it home.

And also the trauma for those who went through the same ordeals, lost brothers (and sisters) at arms, and who did make it home.

I highly recommend any of Dr Tim Cook's novels.

Canada is a young nation, and unlike our southern neighbour our military identity is based in Peace Keeping. But war today, conflict today, is very different than in the past. If you can, read "The Secret History of Soldiers".

And to anyone, past or present, thank you for your service 🙏🏼🤍
