Accessibility shouldn’t be limited to just one one place or one group of people.

It belongs in everything we do:

•How we design
•How we talk to each other
•How we move through the world

Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day. Let’s work together to make the world inclusive for everyone.

Video Description:

Want to write more clearly?

Remove the fluff in your writing.

Fluff is:
· Extra phrases
· Jargon
· Extra information, stored in things like brackets and commas
· Extra words

Sometimes we add words to sentences to dress them up. These words may make a sentence more interesting.

Through the green back door, with an exit sign above it, you can leave the lovely concert or performance for the outdoor parking lot.

If you want someone to know something or do something, write a clear sentence.

Leave through the door with the exit sign.

At Accessibrand, we’ve been having conversations about accessibility beyond websites and technology — including how accessibility shows up in everyday life.

In this short interview, Laura, our Social Media Manager, speaks with McKayla about clothing design and how something as simple as getting dressed can become frustrating when different bodies and physical needs are not considered.

Good design should make people feel included, comfortable, and considered, whether it’s a website, a document, a product, or clothing.

These conversations matter because accessibility is not one-size-fits-all, and lived experience helps us design better for everyone.

Hamilton could be turning away from locally-designed textured concrete that makes sidewalks and intersections easier for people with disabilities to navigate. Accessibility is also found in the details people don’t always notice.

Every document should include a clear title or subject, the correct author, and the right language setting.

The author should reflect the business or organization that owns the document — not just the individual creating it.

Small details like these improve clarity, professionalism, and accountability.
