Participating in WAKE Collective’s Get Media Ready, a dynamic working session designed primarily to equip women founders with stronger strategic narratives, proved to be a valuable experience. The morning convened accomplished media and communications experts who challenged founders to think critically about presenting strategically in public and aligning messaging effectively with the expectations of investors and stakeholders. The live media role-play offered practical, real-time insights into what it truly means to be “media ready” ahead of major visibility moments, such as the Web Summit. Hearing firsthand experiences from founders who have navigated high-pressure media environments added an invaluable perspective.

A special thank you to Priya Tronsgard for the invitation, to the WAKE Collective members for fostering such a collaborative environment, to Guita Yazdani for sharing her founder experience from past Web Summit media interactions, and especially to Shannon Havard, Sarah Mawji, and William Johnson, whose expertise elevated the session.
