Busy weekend behind the camera!

Stay tuned this week to see some of the amazing properties and locations I've been photographing. One highlight? A gorgeous farm shoot that came with an unexpected visitor... a bear!

Let's just say it was close enough that I could hear it scratching a tree and huffing nearby.

Thankfully, the bear and I both agreed that keeping our distance was the best plan. The bear wasn't interested in real estate photography, drone operations, or having its picture taken. It moved on, and we both carried on with our day.

Just another reminder that some of the most beautiful rural properties come with neighbours who are far less interested in real estate photography than I am.

Not every property story begins at the front door. Sometimes it starts from above. For this assignment, I was brought in to capture the exterior photography and drone imagery of 7658 Sowchea Road in Fort St. James, listed with Morgan Davis of Lakeshore Realty Ltd. The moment the drone lifted above the trees, the lifestyle this property offers came into focus. Nestled along Stuart Lake and surrounded by nature, every path seems to lead to another place to relax, gather, and enjoy the outdoors.

The back deck quickly became one of my favourite features to photograph. Tucked into the trees, it feels remarkably private, creating the perfect spot for outdoor meals, quiet mornings, or simply unwinding at the end of the day. It's the kind of outdoor space that naturally draws you outside and makes you want to stay awhile.

As I walked down the stairs to the shoreline with my camera, I found myself slowing down to take it all in. The beach, the firepit area, the lake stretching out beyond the trees. It's the kind of place where family stories are shared a little longer, marshmallows are roasted a little later, and weekends seem to pass a little slower.

For those who love to grow their own food, the greenhouse offers the opportunity to extend the gardening season and enjoy the rewards of homegrown produce. The expansive flat lawn provides plenty of room for everything from backyard games and family gatherings to simply stretching out a lawn chair and enjoying a sunny afternoon surrounded by nature.

While photographing this property, what stood out most was how naturally life seems to flow outdoors. From the private deck tucked into the trees, to the greenhouse, open lawn, beach, and firepit area by the lake, every space felt like an invitation to slow down and enjoy where you are.

Walking through this beautifully updated home, I found myself noticing all the little things that make everyday life easier. The bright, welcoming spaces. The clean, modern finishes. The feeling that everything has already been taken care of.

What a Saturday! Three incredible Fort St. James properties kept me on the move. One perched along the shores of beautiful Stuart Lake, another a beautifully updated home in town, and the last a classic rancher set on peaceful acreage.
