Digital Sense Making sense of the digital marketing world for business and brands.

I was casually talking to an accountant, and he mentioned how much easier his life became after he started using an online scheduling tool.
You know the kind.
You send the link.
They click.
They choose a time.
The meeting is booked.
Simple.
He used it for people who were asking for advice. First, he would have a quick call. Then, if the person needed a more detailed conversation, he would send the booking link and let them choose a time.
That’s not complicated technology.
That’s simple technology making life easier for the business owner and the client.
The same idea applies to your website and content.
Think about the questions people ask you again and again.
What are your hours?
How does your service work?
How much is delivery?
Do you serve my area?
What happens after I contact you?
How long does the process take?
Take those questions and turn them into an FAQ section, short videos, website content, and simple posts.
Good content removes confusion.
It answers the basic questions before the customer has to ask.
And it moves people closer to making a decision.

If you’re creating content for social media, don’t let AI dictate the whole experience.
AI isn’t your voice.
Don’t make it your brand’s voice.
Use AI to help organize your ideas, expand your thoughts, clean up your message, and repurpose your content.
But the real content should still come from you.
Your experience.
Your work.
Your opinions.
Your customer questions.
Your results.
Your proof.
People give business to businesses they trust.
Think about it.
If you’re choosing a restaurant, you want to see the food, the reviews, the real experience, and signs that people actually enjoy it.
If you need lawn care, you’re probably going to trust a real timelapse of someone cleaning up a yard more than a perfect AI avatar talking about lawn care.
Why?
Because the timelapse shows proof.
It shows the work.
It shows the result.
It feels real.
Your content doesn’t have to be perfectly curated.
It has to be accurate, useful, and trustworthy.

During the dot-com boom, adding “.com” to a business idea was sometimes enough to get attention.
A lot of companies rushed online.
But not all of them had real customers, a useful product, or a business model that could survive.
The internet was real.
The opportunity was real.
The impact was real.
But not every internet company was valuable.
We’re seeing something similar with AI today.
Adding AI to a weak product doesn’t automatically make it better.
It doesn’t automatically create demand.
It doesn’t automatically solve a real business problem.
So if you want to use AI in your business, start with the problem first.
Where are you losing time?
Where are customers waiting?
Where is your team doing repetitive work?
Where are leads being missed?
Where can decisions be faster or better?
Then look at how AI can help.
Don’t chase the hype.
Focus on customers, revenue, and measurable results.

AI is powerful.
It can be good, it can be bad, and now we’re entering the world of AI agents.
It’s one thing to ask ChatGPT for dinner ideas.
But imagine an automatic system that checks the day of the week, the season, your preferences, finds a recipe, and sends it every day to a group of friends with your name attached.
That’s not just a chatbot.
That’s an agent.
It can take a task, follow steps, and do work for you.
But here’s the other side.
Bad actors are already using AI to impersonate people, break into systems, create scams, and move faster than before.
We’re not going to stop AI from growing.
So the smart move is to understand what’s possible.
Learn how AI agents work, how they can help, and how they can be misused.
Because the more you understand, the less likely you are to become a victim.

Trying to market everywhere usually means you are making an impact nowhere.
Every platform is different.
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and X all need different content, different consistency, and a different understanding of the audience.
Posting once in a while across six or ten platforms does not build momentum.
It usually just spreads your effort too thin.
The better approach is simple:
Choose the platform where your ideal customers already spend their time.
Learn what type of content works there.
Post consistently for at least 30 days.
Pay attention to conversations, leads, and sales, not just views or followers.
Once you have a system that works, then expand to the next channel.
You do not need to be everywhere.
You need to become difficult to ignore somewhere.

Authentic content beats AI every time.
The more AI-generated content fills the internet, the more valuable real human content becomes.
AI can create polished posts, images, and videos in seconds.
But that also means polished content is becoming easier to create — and less distinctive.
Customers still want genuine opinions, real experiences, honest stories, and proof that there are real people behind the business.
Show your face.
Explain what you have learned.
Share what happens behind the scenes.
Talk about real customer questions.
Use business challenges and project results as content.
AI can help organize, edit, and repurpose your ideas.
But it should not invent your experience.
Your content does not need to be perfect.
It needs to be believable and useful.

Advertising has changed.
It used to be mostly about targeting people by age, location, gender, and interests.
Now, advertising platforms are getting much better at predicting what someone may do next.
If someone is searching for flights during the holidays, reading hotel reviews, watching travel videos, and clicking vacation content, there is a good chance they are close to booking a trip.
That is where AI-driven advertising comes in.
Platforms now analyze behaviour, searches, clicks, engagement, and intent signals to help identify people who may be ready to make a decision.
So as a business owner, do not only focus on building complicated audiences.
Focus on the offer.
Focus on the message.
Focus on the creative.
Focus on the problem you solve.
Focus on the action you want people to take.
Today, advertising is not just about finding the right person.
It is about reaching them at the right moment.

I once had a client tell me, “Google Ads does not work.”
But when we looked closer, the problem was not Google Ads.
They had spent around $1,000 on ads, but the website was outdated, confusing, and full of problems.
Old content.
Dates from seven years ago.
The wrong phone number.
Weak messaging.
No clear path for the customer.
You cannot blame the platform when the customer clicks the ad and lands on a page that creates confusion.
Your ad and your landing page need to match what the person searched for.
If someone clicks because they are looking for a specific service, the page should clearly explain that service, build trust, and make it easy to take action.
Ads bring the customer to the door.
Your landing page has to help close the sale.

The internet has reinvented business more than once.
First, every business needed a website.
Then social media changed how businesses built audiences, relationships, and trust.
Then mobile put the internet in everyone’s pocket and made speed, convenience, and instant access part of normal customer expectations.
Now AI is creating the next major shift.
It is changing how people search, choose, communicate, compare options, and complete tasks.
Every major digital shift created businesses that adapted early — and businesses that waited too long.
You do not need to chase every trend.
But you do need to understand how customer behaviour is changing.
Start there.
Adjust one part of your business at a time.
Keep moving forward.
AI is fast becoming the next interface of the internet.

08/25/2026

AI today feels a lot like the internet did in the 1990s.
A lot of businesses can see it coming, but not everyone understands how much it will change the way business is done.
The internet changed how companies communicated, marketed, and sold.
AI will change how companies operate, make decisions, reduce admin work, serve customers, and respond faster.
But you do not need to transform everything overnight.
Start with one repetitive task.
Customer follow-ups.
Content creation.
Reporting.
Internal admin.
Lead organization.
Learn what works, improve it, and then expand.
That is how businesses adopt new technology properly.
