Over the years, we have found Remembrance Day becomes more dear to us as time goes on. Our loved ones that fought for freedoms so long ago are gone from this earth, yet they impacted our lives so much. Herman’s family came to Canada from Holland not long after Canada helped to liberate the Netherlands, and Shannon’s grandfather was a WWI vet (he served in the navy). We’ve grown up knowing many people affected by war, but not really understanding the cost. We are grateful to those who serve on our behalf and we pray for peace for all families who are missing lost loved ones today.
