Lately, I’ve realized how fast things can change. With that thought, I was reminded why I’m a photographer. I enjoy capturing moments; whether that's capturing people, landscapes, or wildlife. It’s important to capture moments because life moves far too fast. Make sure you stop and take the time to appreciate what you have and don’t use the excuse that you’ll stop next time; because there might not be the next time.
As a somewhat lazy photographer, I got used to the fact that Waterton Lakes National Park is always a convenient place to photograph. Every time I visited, I always found the excuse that I’d photograph that landscape next time because I didn’t want to that day. I got used to the fact that I could come back whenever I wanted because it was so close to home, and I visited so often. I did that a lot in the beginning stages of my photography. I only realize now how important it is to take the time to appreciate what we have because, for me, a wildfire devastated the park overnight. I wish I could rewind time and go back and photograph all the breathtaking landscapes I didn’t get pictures of before the fire. It was a hard lesson learned, and I’m thankful that I took the time to photograph this scene from the top of the Red Rock Parkway, as it will never be the same. @ Waterton Lakes National Park
