There’s something about “loyalty” in the music world that’s hard to understand sometimes.
Independent artists will often celebrate that one rare spin on mainstream radio—and that’s great. But here’s the reality…
Most mainstream stations don’t play indie country regularly. We do. Every single hour.
And yet, the stations that consistently support independent artists are often the ones that go unmentioned.
We’re not asking for applause—we’re asking for partnership.
Because here’s the bigger picture…
Local and internet radio stations rely on community support to survive. We don’t have corporate backing. We don’t have out-of-town voice tracks filling the day. We’re here, in the community, supporting local events, local artists, and local voices—often at no cost.
And we’ve already seen what happens when that support disappears: local stations shut down.
When that happens, the big networks don’t step in to replace that community connection. They move on.
So this isn’t just about radio—it’s about who’s left telling your community’s stories.
If you’re an artist we play: let your fans know where they can hear you. Tag us. Share the connection.
If you’re a listener: support the stations that support your community.
Because once those local voices are gone, they don’t come back.
