So, my birthday soon & I turn 43 next week, subhanallah! Reflecting back, I’m grateful for the experiences & people that have shaped me. Alhamdulillah for it all ❤️

This year, I’m giving myself the gift of INTENTION.

An intentional life, that is—honouring my faith, nurturing my creativity and deeply listening to my intuition while I grow with my family.

For a while now, I’ve been feeling out of alignment with social media.

So, I’ll be deactivating my IG account by the end of this month and going private next week that so I can transition off of this platform and the others.

Being an 80s kid, I long for the days of quiet boredom, real meaningful human connections and savouring the art of noticing.

This is where wild authentic creativity was birthed,
Where intimate relationships were built,
Where being in the outdoors was a part of my everyday…

I’m tired of the distractions,
the unconscious way of living,
being fed ideas from “The Feed”,
moving with anxious zombie brains,
only to repeat it the next day…
and then wondering where the weeks or months went by.

I want to be here & now,
embracing the present with aliveness,
loud curiosity,
learning & growing through slow living,
breathing in gratitude,
exhaling service to others,
honing in my God-given gifts
applying my abilities to solve what matters in the community,
being an active participant in my own life.

At heart, I’m a writer. I write essays & speak at lengths of things that matter to me. So, I’m going to lean into that with more intention.

It’s a vibrant community of writers & creatives. I’m truly enjoying the refreshing long form content. My mind is already finding calm in it. I can hear my voice again…

So with that, I’ll be sharing my new journey, starting a artsy homesteading life with my family. Lots of exciting unknowns I’ll be writing about.

For those wondering, and will live on—lots to come iA! But will be closing this month. Thank you for being a part of my journey.

I went across the river to Detroit to attend the opening reception of ’s ‘Gut Instinct’ exhibit. What a refreshing evening ❤️🧠.

I have to say, I’m a longtime fan of the comic series and the relatable conversations and inner debates between Brain and Heart. It helped me get through some tough times, creating space for a more lighthearted, humanize perspective on anxiety and depression, and allowing me to look at the world more playfully.

It was an honour to meet the illustrator, artist and author behind , Nick Seluk, who generously shared his creative journey and experience that brought him here.

As a creative myself, I found the honest, not-so-glorious stories just as inspiring as it teaches us of a deep shared humanity that sound bites and photo clips just cannot encapsulate. (No shade to social media…😏)

Real conversations are priceless. Human connections are what our souls need.

Today, I had the pleasure of leading several workshops in Toronto for the Catholic Crosscultural Services with over 30 attendees today! Phew it was a busy day at two locations but gosh it was so fulfilling 💛💫✨.

🌿I conducted 2 ‘Power of Aromatherapy’ workshops, teaching newcomers and seniors the benefits of therapeutic essentials oil blends and how they can help boost your moods in various ways. Each attendee took home vials of personalized oil blends they can use everyday at home.

🧼I then conducted 2 ‘Art of Soapmaking’ workshop for the same groups using their newly created aromatherapy oil blends to make their very own natural soaps! Each attendee took home a collection of homemade soaps they can use right away :)

Everyone had a great time—to see their creativity spark and witness their enthusiasm was priceless. The room was buzzing with good energy 💫✨

The highlight of the day:
Two of my attendees were 82 and 90 years old respectively. Both came to me separately with such happiness to say it’s their first time ever make soaps. I nearly cried, because to see their zeal and curiosity for life was so utterly inspiring for me, mA.

I absolutely love what I get to do and feel it’s such a blessing to share my creative joy as an art facilitator.

My heart is full. I’m grateful for the opportunities. Alhamdulillah 💛🍯🐝
