Today is World Oceans Day 🌊 . plays a very important role in spreading awareness about the significance of Oceans in our lives. Moreover, it informs people about impact of human actions on the ocean, and try to mobilize world's population and develop a worldwide movement of citizens for the ocean.

Oceans Day was first proposed on 8 June 1992 in Rio de Janeiro at the Global Forum, a parallel event at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED).
However, the UN General Assembly, in 2008, resolved that 8 June would be designated by the UN as “World Oceans Day”.
The first World Oceans Day was observed in the year 2009 with the theme ‘Our Oceans, Our Responsibility’.

The theme of World Oceans Day 2021 is 'The Ocean: Life and Livelihoods'. The theme will shed light on how ocean is our life source, supporting humanity and every other organism on Earth.

Action

To help you to celebrate this year, here is a few tips to get involved.

-Help raise awareness about plastic pollution and talk ro your friends and family about all the way they can support our mission to end the ocean plastic crisis.

-Participate in a local cleanup cleanup to help prevent trash from entering our oceans. IF you can’t find an event, host a small cleanup with friends and family.

-Donate time, money or supplies to your favorite ocean-friendly organizations.

-Make smart sustainable choices when you go shopping.
