• Company Name Branding
Most brands leverage the popularity of their own company names to improve brand recognition for example, Coca-Cola.
• Individual Branding
Large companies with a variety of well-known products may opt for an individual branding strategy by giving each product its own brand name. For example, Apple (Mac, iPhone or iPad).
• Attitude Branding
Most at times a company will rely on an overall feeling or attitude to market its products and reflect its business. Brands such as Nike use attitude branding not only to sell athletic shoes, but also to promote a healthy lifestyle that aligns with its infamous slogan, “Just Do It.”
• Brand Extension Branding
Existing strong brands may decide to extend their success into a new venture with effective use of a brand extension strategy. Many clothing companies use brand extension strategies to launch a new line of shoes, fragrances or accessories. The products may be different, but the brand identity stays the same.
• Private-Label Branding
Successful store brands may use private-label branding strategies to compete with larger retailers. For example, supermarket chains such as Walmart, Dovv and Santa Lucia.
FOUR BRANDING GROWTH STRATEGIES
• Line extension brand growth strategy
This involves creating additional products in response to consumer needs. Apple (iPhone 6 -12) is a close example of line extension strategy
• Brand extension strategy
It is the introduction of a new brand, in a new market, after consolidating your brands' name in a related field.
• New brand strategy
The new brand strategy is when a firm creates a new brand to go along with a new product.
• Flanker / Fighter brand strategy

Most Companies / Businesses express themselves in different ways such as; name, slogan, sign, symbol or design. Despite having being in operation for a while, some Companies / Businesses are not known of their existence in the market. This entails us to look into the concept of “Branding”.
WHAT IS BRANDING?
It is a process which involves the creation of a strong positive perception in the mind of a consumer about a company product / service or in other words, it’s simply the shorthand statement of who you are and what you can do for someone.
HOW TO BUILD A BRAND
As a business person / company owner and looking for a better way of giving visibility to your products / services, here are some tips for you;
• Determine your target audience.
• Choose a name, design, color or slogan.
• Position your product and business.
• Define your company’s personality.

As a business person, how often and which medium do you use in communicating with your customers?
There are four types of marketing communication channels which are important in marketing. There are;
• Advertising: Being the most powerful device in marketing communication, advertising offers an extended reach to audience and high frequency of message delivery in both traditional and modern marketing. Having in mind that advertising is the most expensive marketing communication medium, companies or business men, should make the most out of it by using different advertising channels.
• Public Relations: Public relations officer(s) are responsible for upholding the image of a company. They are in charge of writing press releases, handles press enquiries, and sometimes handles crises management.
• Sales Promotion: Discounts are the most favorite type of sales promotion in marketing communication. Many customers do make spontaneous buying decision at the time of sale. Seeing this fact, you might start to think, how to make use of this situation.
• Online Media: With the rapid growth of social media, many companies use online media as their marketing communication tool. This could be done through content writing, quality images and videos which targets the right audience. To attract more audience, ads with impressive messages are usually placed on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram or some personal blogs.

Now our days, marketing has gradually evolve over the years. This was due to the realization by companies that consumers wants and needs were more important than the varieties of products in the market because companies had to do their research on the various choices of goods/products to suit the changing market. This concept was presented by Philip Kotler in the early 90s which is known as modern marketing ( Digital Marketing).
Since from the time of its conception, Modern/Digital marketing has rapidly taken over traditional marketing. In simple words, Modern marketing means, discovering potential customers and producing goods or services in such a way to fulfill the needs and wants of the customers. It in turns promotes brand to connect with potential buyers using the internet and other forms of digital platforms such as; Email, social media, web base ads.
The aims of the modern marketing are the satisfaction of the customers or consumers and marketing across multiple channels to reach different consumers.
Looking at the modern marketing concept, we will consider three main important points which are;
• Global Reaching: It give the company/enterprise visibility in both the national and international market through the different digital channels of communication.
• Measurable Results: Results can be measured through the number of people reached, followers, engagements, and likes. With these statistics, it enables you to determine your milestone.
• Open New Markets: Digital marketing gives opportunities to enter new markets where one can display verities of products.
Looking at some setbacks, we will focus our attention on three points.

• Skills and Training: Most digital marketers are not well trained and thus lack the necessary skills needed to use the different social media plat form, to attain the scope of this marketing concept.
• Time-consuming: Sticking on a digital marketing strategy, entails a lot of time in other to archive a desirable result (6 to 12 months or more). This may come as a result of lack of frequent posts and poor-quality contents.
• Security and Privacy Issues: One of the most common problems with Digital Marketing is the issue of account hacking faced by many users.

What is traditional marketing? Print marketing is the oldest form of conventional marketing. Commonly defined as advertising in paper form, this strategy has been in use between the 19th and 20th centuries, when Egyptians used papyru to create sales messages and wall posters. The shift from simple products to brands in the early 1950s has not been sudden or inevitable. You could argue that it grew out of the standardization of quality products for consumers in the mid-20th century, which required companies to find new ways to distinguish themselves from competitors.
Marketing consists of transfer of ownership of goods from producers to consumers. The traditional concept of marketing corresponds to the general notion of marketing, which means selling goods and services after they have been produced. Consumer satisfaction is not given adequate emphasis.
Let’s look at some of the benefits traditional marketing;
Reach local audience: Use of traditional market can make your task easy to reach the local audience. Radio is definitely the best option and the quickest way to advertise your business and put your message.
