We often wait for big solutions to environmental problems.

But change can also begin with ordinary people making conscious choices, caring for their communities, and choosing to act.

No single action will save the planet.

But every action can be part of the change.

๐–๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ฒ ๐›๐ž๐ ๐š๐ง

Last saturday in Yaoundรฉ, I joined several organisations for an eco-responsible walk ahead of ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐‚๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ง๐ฎ๐ฉ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ.

We collected plastic waste, especially bottles, for recycling.

For me, this action was also a reminder of where my journey began: volunteering.

Before communication for development became my professional path, I spent my Saturdays supporting community projects, collecting plastic waste and creating environmental clubs in schools.

Volunteering taught me that change begins with action and that lesson still guides me today.

Environmental action doesnโ€™t always begin with a big project.

Sometimes, it starts with what we choose to buy, use, reuse, protect or refuse every day.

Small choices may seem ordinary.

But repeated by millions of people, they can shape entire systems.

Meet Sara, a farmer near Maroua, Cameroon.

After years of declining soil fertility and poor sunflower yields, she discovered Bokashi, a natural fertilizer, through a training organized by Sahel Dev Cameroun, with the support of Global Greengrants Fund and .

The result? Healthier soil, stronger sunflowers and a more abundant harvest. ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒป

Bokashi didnโ€™t just nourish her crops. It helped bring her soil back to life.
