is an electrochemical process in which a durable and corrosion-resistant oxide layer is formed, enhancing the surface of a metal, usually aluminum.
There are different types of anodizing, most commonly referred to as Type I-Chromic Acid Anodize, Type II-Sulfuric Acid Anodize, and Type III Hard Anodize or Hardcoat from the Mil-A-8625 designation.
They have different corrosion resistance due to the thickness of the oxide layer. Considering the requirement for corrosion resistance, you can choose the type with the appropriate thickness.
●Type I-Chromic Acid Anodize 0.5-5μm
●Type II-Sulfuric Acid Anodize 5-20μm
●Type III Hard Anodize 20-150μm
What is included in detailed anodizing requirements?
●Type+color+thickness of the oxide layer
●Information about sandblasting(sand size, roughness)
●The size inspection will be done before or after anodizing
●Structures with conductive requirements that should be covered while anodizing
