I’m Sarah Beaudin, a freelance book designer from Canada who has recently run away with the circus. I operate my design studio out of a suitcase, affording me a unique perspective on current global trends in both graphic design and storytelling. I have clients across the gl

What punctuation mark are you?

If I could choose I would be an em dash — versatile, playful, interrupting, a little informal, and never to be confused with an en dash. My editor friends may disagree, but I think it's use (or misuse) is more a matter of taste than a hard rule, making it a designer's best friend.

The Great Wall of China is at the top of every tourists' must-see list while they're in the Beijing area... but only because they haven't yet heard about "The Eye of Binhai" in Tianjin.

I am counting down the days until I move to Beijing so that I can bask in the glory of this beautiful new library.
