When we look at a short-term stock market graph, daily small ups and downs are sharp and very visible. But when you zoom out over long time, those daily fluctuations fade away. What remains is where the it started, where it ended, and the milestones in between.
Politician Khaleda Zia’s life is much the same. Her time had glories along with shortcomings and faced its fair share of criticism. Yet today, when people look back at where she started and her finish line, many will agree—it was an impressive run.
From today, we officially enter the 2nd Phase of our democratic journey.

গণ ভাবনা প্রকল্পে আমরা DUCSU প্রার্থী ও দলের জনপ্রিয়তা বিশ্লেষণের জন্য একটি বিশেষ পদ্ধতি ব্যবহার করি। মূলত আমরা তিনটি উৎস থেকে তথ্য সংগ্রহ করি:
1️⃣ প্রার্থীর জনপ্রিয়তা (Weighted Popularity %)
প্রতি প্রার্থীর জনপ্রিয়তা তাদের অনলাইন উপস্থিতি এবং সমর্থকদের কথাবার্তা থেকে নির্ধারিত হয়। সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় প্রার্থীকে 100% ধরা হয়, বাকিদের তুলনায় হিসাব করা হয়।
Formula:
Weighted Popularity % = (Candidate Weighted Popularity ÷ Max(All Candidates Weighted Popularity)) × 100
2️⃣ লাইভ সেন্টিমেন্ট বিশ্লেষণ (Live Sentiment Analysis)
আমরা সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যম ও অন্যান্য অনলাইন প্ল্যাটফর্মে প্রার্থীর সম্পর্কে মানুষের মন্তব্য পর্যবেক্ষণ করি। মন্তব্যগুলোকে তিন ভাগে ভাগ করা হয়: ইতিবাচক, নেতিবাচক, নিরপেক্ষ।
Formulas:
Positive Ratio = (Positive Comments ÷ Total Comments) × 100

Negative Ratio = (Negative Comments ÷ Total Comments) × 100

Neutral Ratio = (Neutral Comments ÷ Total Comments) × 100

3️⃣ দলের শক্তি (Combined Party Score)
একটি দলের শক্তি নির্ধারণ করতে আমরা অনলাইন জনপ্রিয়তা ও প্রচলিত জরিপ ফলাফল সমন্বয় করি।
Formula:
Combined Party Score = 0.5 × Weighted Popularity % + 0.5 × Survey Score
4️⃣ চূড়ান্ত পূর্বাভাস (Final Score)
শেষে, প্রার্থীর ব্যক্তিগত জনপ্রিয়তা এবং দলের শক্তি মিলিয়ে চূড়ান্ত ফলাফল তৈরি করি। পদভেদ অনুযায়ী ওজন আলাদা:
VP: প্রার্থীর ব্যক্তিগত জনপ্রিয়তা বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ
Final Score (VP) = 0.6 × Candidate Score + 0.4 × Party Score

GS: দলের প্রভাব বেশি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ
Final Score (GS) = 0.4 × Candidate Score + 0.6 × Party Score

🗳️ অর্থাৎ, আমরা অনলাইন মন্তব্য, জরিপ ফলাফল এবং প্রার্থী-দল সম্পর্ক মিলিয়ে একটি সম্পূর্ণ ও ভারসাম্যপূর্ণ পূর্বাভাস তৈরি করি।

Recently Gono Bhabna conducted face to face interview of local people in Chapainawabganj through stratified sampling representing all unions, s*x and age. The summary of the result is published here:

📊 Survey at a glance:
✅ Sample: 2,139 eligible voters
✅ Gender: 58% male, 42% female
✅ Largest age group: 26–35 years
✅ Gen Z (18–25): 23% (500+ voters)
✅ Top professions: Housewife (32%), Small business (23%), Student (13%)

🔍 What we asked voters:
-এসকল প্রার্থীদের মধ্যে, কোন প্রার্থীটি এখন পর্যন্ত আপনার পছন্দের?
-আপনার পছন্দের প্রার্থীটি কোন রাজনৈতিক দলের সমর্থক, জানেন কি?
- সামনের জাতীয় নির্বাচনে আপনাদের আসন থেকে কোন রাজনৈতিক দলটি বিজয়ী হবে বলে মনে করেন?
-আপনি কি কোনো রাজনৈতিক দলের প্রত্যক্ষ সমর্থন করেন?
-কোন দলকে সমর্থন করেন? (যদি করে থাকেন)
-ইউটিউব বা ফেসবুকে জনপ্রিয় কোনো মানুষের রাজনৈতিক মতামত আপনি শোনেন কি?
(➡️ 72% said they don’t follow any social media influencers!)

The key Insights from the Survey are:
📌 BNP is the most popular party, followed by Jamaat
📌 Professor Shahjahan Mia is the most preferred candidate overall, irrespective of party affiliation, and is popular in all unions.
📌 89% say they’ll vote based on candidate, not just party
📌 64% undecided about party, 44% undecided about candidate
📌 Voters want:
✔️ Infrastructure development
✔️ Law & order
✔️ Food price control
📌 40% believe BNP can meet their expectations
📌 38% believe AL supporters may shift to BNP/Shahjahan
📌 Jamaat as a party is most popular among female voters but as candidate BNP's Prof. Shahjahan is popular female choice.
📌 Jamaat's Dr Keramat appears as a second preference for many AL voters
