Children of the Corn
In cradles of tender green leaves,
the children rest like hidden seeds,
listening to lullabies soft as the wind,
echoing from the earth, from ancestral lips.
Braided hair flows like mountain streams,
embracing the gold of growing fields.
Each heartbeat is a kernel of maize,
each dream a radiant harvest.
They grow with the voices of dawn birds,
with the breath of soil and rain,
carrying the vast blue sky in their eyes,
carrying ancient songs in their hearts.
And when they emerge from their leafy cocoons,
they will know:
they are children of the sun,
children of the earth,
children of songs eternal.
