Now, after 400 videos and more than 4,000 subscribers, I would like to thank you with 40 exclusive pictures of models from the Scale Model Challenge. Today's livestream is mainly in German. But you can find the small picture gallery with the 40 pictures mentioned at the end of the livestream. The GAU-8 Avenger cannon, mounted on the A-10 Thunderbolt II, produces a distinctive and iconic buzzing or "brrrrrt" sound when fired. This sound comes from the high rate of fire and the sheer power of the gun. The GAU-8 is a 30mm rotary cannon capable of firing up to 3,900 rounds per minute, although in practice, it usually fires in shorter bursts.

The buzzing noise is a result of several factors, including:

High Rate of Fire: The cannon fires 70 rounds per second, and this rapid firing creates the buzzing effect.

Rotary Mechanism: The cannon's Gatling-style rotary design contributes to the continuous sound as it spins and fires multiple barrels sequentially.

Ammunition: The size of the 30mm rounds and their speed contribute to the sound profile. The rounds travel faster than the speed of sound, resulting in the rounds hitting targets before the sound of the gun firing is heard.

This sound is both feared and respected on the battlefield due to its association with the cannon's immense destructive capability and the A-10's role in close air support missions.

At 6:00 p.m., we will show you the first part of our photo report of the fantastic 1:72nd scale dioramas at this year's Dioramica, which, by the way, can still be visited until 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (Sunday, 29 September 2024) in Heilbad Heiligenstadt, which is located in the heart of Germany.

Liebe Freunde von Modellbau360, am Samstag den 21.September geht es weiter mit neuen Inhalten auf unserem YouTube-Kanal Modellbau360. Leider hat mein Husten am Wochenende und auch heute noch verhindert, dass ich euch wieder mit hoffentlich interessanten und modellbaurelevanten Themen in den Ohren liege.
Am Samstag geht es um die aktuelle Dioramica, geile aktuelle Aufnahmen aus Arizona (ratet mal wovon!) und im Livestream später dann darum, wie man einen Rand um ein Loch macht ... hmm, ach lasst euch überraschen!
