Most artists hit a point where their ads are working, pour money in, watch performance collapse, then panic and cut everything back. The relationship between spend and results is not linear.

The fix is patience. Raise budget by 20 percent every 48 hours, scale your winners vertically, then duplicate them to new audiences. Only scale ad sets that have left the learning phase and still have fresh creative.

And keep feeding the system new creative as spend grows, or fatigue catches up fast.

Interest targeting is where most artists start and where most waste their budget. Pick Art, pick Home Decor, watch CPMs climb and ROAS disappoint. The problem isn't Meta. It's that every art store is bidding for the same five interests.

What works better: related artists and movements, interior design communities, and people who already shop for art on Etsy and Society6. Start broad, run interests in separate ad sets, and read the breakdown view to see what's actually doing the work.

Once your pixel matures, let Lookalikes take over.

An open offer: send us your store and we'll spend 30 minutes finding where it leaks.

We look at the obvious revenue gaps first - campaign objective, pixel, product pages, email flows. You leave with a short list of fixes whether or not we ever work together.

No pitch, no obligation. Link in bio, or drop a comment and we'll reach out.

Most artists run a cold audience straight to a product ad, then wonder why no one buys from a store they've never heard of. That's not a failure of your product. It's how people work.

An awareness phase fixes it. Run process videos, studio clips and your story to cheap reach, then retarget the people who engaged. Conversion ads to warmed audiences cost far less per purchase than cold prospecting.

Keep it to 10 to 20% of spend, and don't judge it by ROAS. It's filling the pool you convert later.

The single most common mistake we see in art-store ad accounts: running a Traffic campaign when you want sales.

Traffic buys you clicks from people who like to look. Sales tells Meta to go find people who buy. Same budget, completely different result.

Someone visits your store, looks at a print for 45 seconds, then leaves without buying. They're not gone. Most purchases don't happen on the first visit.

Retargeting is the system that brings them back, and in our client accounts it consistently delivers the highest ROAS of any campaign type. Structure it in three tiers by how close each group is to buying: checkout abandoners, add-to-cart, then product page visitors. Match the window and the creative to each.

The biggest mistake is spending your whole budget on prospecting and nothing on bringing people back.

Most agencies get paid whether you grow or not. We don't think that's right for artists working on real margins.

We work on a share of the revenue we help create. If your store doesn't grow, neither do we. It keeps us honest and it keeps us focused on the only number that matters: yours.
