▂ ▃ ▅ ▆ █ I Am Not Oil █ ▆ ▅ ▃ ▂
An important appeal to all peoples:
A missile kills once.
But hunger kills millions of times.
There is no safe haven on Earth from the specter of hunger.
Food production, from mechanization and harvesting to packaging, marketing,
and delivery, all depend on oil. The ongoing war,
which has unfortunately encroached upon people's food security and well-being, is no secret.
To combat rising prices following the shutdown of several oil refineries and processing plants and the closure of shipping lanes,
all nations must stand together with their governments and refrain from pressuring them.
Governments, in these turbulent times,
must prioritize securing the necessary oil supplies,
which are essential for the infrastructure of power plants,
water and sewage systems, and all other essential services.
For life to continue, and given what I mentioned earlier, oil will not be plentiful with the escalation of war,
not because of a shortage of millions,
but because of the deterioration of the extraction infrastructure. We, the people, must cooperate with our governments by reducing the burden of gasoline consumption.
We should use public transportation; a car that consumes enough gasoline for one person could carry ten people in their cars,
or a bus that carries fifty. Let's reserve fuel for what is more important: huge tankers that transport all our needs. If these trucks stop because of fuel shortages, we will find neither food, medicine,
nor water. To overcome this global crisis, we must cooperate with our governments and alleviate the burdens on the energy sector. The whole world needs each other; let's stand together and save ourselves. Governments have reserves, but for how long?
Once they run out,
we cannot blame them; they don't fall like rain.
