EPRI has been established by the Presidential Decree no.541 for the year 1974, as one of the research institutes following the Ministry of Scientific Research, headed by his Excellency Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the aim of supplying the national petroleum industry with studies, scientific research work, consultations, analytical and technical services individually o
r together with other parties. France has thankfully contributed to the er****on of EPRI by supplying It with a number of lacking laboratory appliances and scientific equipment. The French Petroleum Research Institute (IFP) has contributed a lot in the form of consultancy, nurturing of a number of researchers and technical personnel within IFP, besides carrying out a number of joint research projects with EPRI. In compliance with the Presidential Decree, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of EPRI is the Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources.
