Statement Issued by the United Arab Struggle Front
On the Anniversary of the Victory over Na**sm
From Stalingrad to South Lebanon, to Gaza, to Western Sahara… the same battle has not ended.
On the ninth of May, free peoples do not merely commemorate a passing military memory; rather, they reclaim a decisive historical moment in which the working classes proved their ability to change the fate of the world, when the Red Army, under the leadership of the Soviet socialist state, stood against the most violent forms of savage capitalism at its fascist peak.
For decades, the imperialist bourgeoisie has attempted to distort the truth of that war and reduce it to false liberal narratives about Western democracy. Yet the radiant historical truth remains that the force which broke the backbone of Na**sm was not Wall Street, nor the British banks, nor the French corporations—many of which collaborated with the N**i occupation—but rather the millions of Soviet workers and peasants who defended the first socialist state in history to their very last drop of blood.
Comrade Joseph Stalin, no matter how the capitalist propaganda machine has tried to portray him as a historical monster, remains one of the central leaders in humanity’s battle to liberate itself from Na**sm. History is not written according to the morals of the petty bourgeoisie, but according to the balance of class struggle. At that critical moment, the Soviet Union was not merely defending its borders, but defending the future of humanity itself against a universal project of extermination founded upon racial supremacy and colonial enslavement.
Na**sm understood from the very beginning that socialism was not merely a political opponent, but an existential contradiction to the system of imperialist exploitation. Therefore, the war against the Soviet Union was not simply a war of territorial expansion, but a class and civilizational war aimed at crushing the very idea of liberation and transforming the peoples of the earth into laboring herds within a colossal capitalist military machine.
But what fascism failed to realize was that peoples possessing historical consciousness and revolutionary organization are capable of transforming hunger, siege, and destruction into an immense force of resistance. From the Battle of Stalingrad to the Battle of Kursk, from the Siege of Leningrad to the storming of Berlin, the Soviet people wrote the epic of the new human being—one who fights not in defense of a market, a corporation, or a colony, but in defense of human dignity and the possibility of building a world free from exploitation.
The most dangerous act committed by imperialism after the war was not merely the attempt to steal that victory, but to strip it of its class content. Fascism was presented as a moral deviation detached from capitalism, whereas the Marxist truth affirms that fascism is nothing but the naked terrorist form of bourgeois dictatorship when liberal democracy can no longer protect the interests of capital.
Today, fascism returns in new forms: in the rise of the fascist right in Europe and Arab reactionism; in Zionism as a settler-colonial and replacement project; in the militarization of the world; in turning refugees into targets of hatred; in crushing peoples in the name of security and the “war on terror”; and in reproducing the human being as a consumer stripped of memory, identity, and history.
We clearly see that crisis-ridden capitalism is once again returning to its old instruments: racism, chauvinism, nationalist incitement, and the fragmentation of societies along sectarian and ethnic lines, all in order to prevent the emergence of any unified class-based or emancipatory consciousness.
Therefore, commemorating the victory over Na**sm is not a rigid ceremonial ritual, but an act of direct political and intellectual engagement with the present. The battle against fascism did not end with the fall of Berlin, because the conditions that produce it still exist within the global capitalist system itself.
The peoples of the Arab world, who today confront the Zionist project, imperialist domination, sectarian fragmentation, and economic dependency, are not outside this history, but at its very heart. Comprehensive Arab resistance is not merely a national issue, but part of the great human struggle against the new fascism and against the capitalism that continuously reproduces it.
On this great anniversary, the United Arab Struggle Front affirms that true loyalty to the sacrifices of the Red Army lies not in mourning the past, but in building a revolutionary Arab liberation movement possessing class clarity, mass organization, and the ability to engage with the new historical phase.
Stalingrad is not merely a city, but the name of every people that refuses to kneel.
And if the red flag once rose above Berlin, it shall rise again above every land fighting against colonialism, exploitation, and modern slavery—from South Lebanon to every arena of resistance throughout the world.
Glory to the martyrs who crushed Na**sm.
Glory to the peoples resisting the new fascism.
Glory to every hand that carries both bread and the rifle together.
Long live the resistance of peoples.
Long live socialism.
Long live revolutionary internationalism.
