Marriage is a sacred covenant that brings together two hearts in one life. The couple does not return two, but “one body”.
Marriage is not just sharing in life, it is a union of love, compassion, responsibility, and patience. It is for each of them to find in each other support and safety, and to choose each other every day, in joy and fatigue, in strength and weakness.
When Jesus said, “Not after two, but one flesh. What God has gathered together is no human being” (Mark 9:10), it reminds us that a marriage in which two hearts meet before God is a covenant not based on feelings alone, but on fulfilment, forgiveness, forgiveness and adherence to each other no matter how circumstances change.
The real marriage is not that two live under one roof, but that their hearts become one house, and that love between them is a covenant that God preserves and strengthens.
