Dr. Khaled Soufi, Chairman of the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality and President of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Honors TCL as the First Factory to Obtain the Environmental Performance Label for Detergents.

Cairo, Egypt – 16 April 2026

Dr. Khaled Soufi honored Technical Chemical Laboratories (TCL) for obtaining the Environmental Performance Label for detergents, making it the first factory in Egypt to achieve this certification, in line with Egyptian Standard No. 8829 for 2024.

The award was received by Eng. Ramy Ghali, Factories' General Manager, in the presence of Dr. Hoda Yassa, President of the Arab Women Investors Union and Chairwoman of Yassa Group, along with international environmental consultant Dr. Mohamed El Zarqa.

Dr. Hoda Yassa stated that this recognition reflects TCL’s pioneering role and its contribution to developing the standard, supporting sustainable and eco-friendly production.

Eng. Ramy Ghali added that the achievement highlights TCL’s commitment to quality and environmental sustainability, delivering products that meet both local and international standards.

Dr. Mohamed El Zarqa noted that TCL has adopted environmental programs and practices since the early 1980s, aligned with Egyptian and international standards.

This milestone reinforces TCL’s role in supporting the transition toward a green economy and advancing the detergents industry in Egypt and across Africa.
