Luke 8: 1-8
And he told them a parable, to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.

He said, "In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor regarded man;

and there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, `Vindicate me against my adversary.'

For a while he refused; but afterward he said to himself, `Though I neither fear God nor regard man,

yet because this widow bothers me, I will vindicate her, or she will wear me out by her continual coming.'"

And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge says.

And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?

I tell you, he will vindicate them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

Reflection🙏🕊
Jesus uses a parable of a persistent widow and an indifferent judge to teach us about prayer. Despite the judge's lack of concern, the widow's relentless pleas lead him to grant her justice. This story encourages us to be unwavering in our prayer life, trusting that God will swiftly bring about justice.

However, some may doubt this assurance when their prayers seem unanswered. It's crucial to remember two points: Jesus' promise is true—persevering prayer is heard and answered by God. But the justice God delivers may differ from our expectations. His justice could mean an invitation to extend mercy rather than exacting retribution.

Consider a scenario where someone mistreats you. Prayer might not result in their apology, but God may instead grant you the grace to respond with humility and love. Our prayers should align with God's will, not dictate it. Reflect on your trust in God's perfect will and His response to your prayers, which brings peace and union with Him. Entrust your challenges to Him, and His grace will lead you according to His divine plan.
