Vibe coding fooled me into believing I shipped a product 😳

Lovable built the UI,
Cursor wrote the features,
Claude squashed the bugs,
v0 made it deploy clean,
and the MVP looked perfect 🔥

Then production hit. Auth leaks, missing rate limits, broken RLS, silent errors, no caching, the stuff nobody talks about in the launch tweet.

Frontend and backend isn’t full-stack. It’s just the tip of the iceberg . The other 11 layers are where real products are built that handles thousands of real users.

Luck = Opportunity meets Preparedness.

2 months ago, I started an internship at Traseable Solutions, a well-known software company here in Fiji.

Since then, I’ve learned a ton. I took everything I learned and did a full revamp of the kaloka youth website i did over the break - code structure, tech stack etc. Will be dropping the site real soon.

Biggest lesson from landing this role: Side projects matter. As software devs, having your own portfolio online really matters - during the interview, almost all the questions asked were related to my side projects. So, build something and deploy it on Vercel - use React, Next.js, whatever works. Static or dynamic, doesn’t matter. Ship it. Just ensure u understand the technology you use.

Been busy juggling uni, an internship, and side projects… but honestly, what a privilege it is to get to do all this.

Took Part in this Hackathon last weekend… and my group secured the 2nd spot for fintech catergory.

My take is… umi solo need for start organism events like this to gather innovative minds together to drive change forward in our country especially in tech wea umi just really behind nmr na.
