👉 A year ago, I thought my business was dying and I needed to pivot. This didn't quite go as planned.
---
A year ago, I'd lost important clients, and important contracts. AI was everywhere and the odds of keeping my business afloat were NOT GOOD.
Just like everyone else, I had no idea what would happen next, so I decided to explore other avenues. I considered interpreting (which is close), photography (as I already do street photography), and enrolled in a course on personal styling (a passion of mine for a long time).
One of the highlights of that crazy year was going all the way from Lyon to Brittany to do a pro bono interpreting gig for the La Gacilly photo festival, and bursting a tyre on the highway 😅 But I still made it!
All while still translating and aiming to keep it going for as long as I could.
⏱️ 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁-𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱. I'm so busy I've actually had to stop my training course halfway as I won't make it to the certification without burning out. I also found interpreting too taxing and I realised I didn't want to monetise photography.
I went off the radar for a while.
But:
✔️ I've now been onboarded by Back Market and Bumble for their UI and marketing translations
✔️ I started working with the fabulous team of WE ARE VERY for a key account
✔️ The French websites of Talon. One and Airship will be out soon
✔️ I work on the most critical documents needed by Thinkproject
✔️ I still belong to the online teams of two major Silicon Valley companies via RWS Group and Translated
Humblebragging? No, just pure bragging :D None of this happened by accident, and it took a lot of effort, so I'm actually proud of myself. But that's not the point.
