The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is the independent governing body of football in Africa. If its decisions are based on established rules and regulations, then those rules should be implemented consistently, because no one is above the law.

Our advice to our Senegalese brothers is this: if you believe the ruling is unfair, you have the right to appeal through the appropriate channels. However, as it stands now, the decision remains final and must be respected.

"Could someone please convey to Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensuda that the role of mayor entails a significant responsibility? Leadership is fundamentally about being accountable, An irresponsible individual cannot effectively lead, as true leadership is fundamentally rooted in the ability to take on responsibility. If someone is unwilling to embrace the responsibilities that come with the role of mayor, it would be more appropriate for them to step down from the position.

**Happy Birthday to Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh, Former President of the Republic of The Gambia!**

Today, we celebrate not just your birthday, but also the milestones and remarkable achievements during your tenure that have left a lasting impact on the Gambian people.

1. **Infrastructure Development**
- You spearheaded significant improvements in the nation's road networks, enhancing connectivity with major projects such as the Kombo Coastal Road and the Banjul–Serrekunda Highway. Additionally, your administration focused on upgrading provincial roads to facilitate rural access.
- Your leadership saw the introduction and upgrading of ferry services, alongside the construction of crucial bridges like the Senegambia Bridge, which, though completed after your term, was initiated under your guidance.
- Rural electrification initiatives through NAWEC expanded electricity access to many remote areas, illuminating lives and fostering development.

2. **Education**
- In 1999, you established the University of The Gambia (UTG), providing Gambians with a vital local option for higher education and empowering the youth.
- Your administration witnessed a significant increase in the number of primary and secondary schools, particularly in rural communities, ensuring broader access to education.
- Adult literacy programs were promoted under your leadership, effectively reducing illiteracy and enhancing educational opportunities for all Gambians.

3. **Healthcare**
- You prioritized the health sector by overseeing the construction and upgrading of hospitals and clinics, including the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul and various regional hospitals, thereby improving healthcare access.
- Your commitment to public health was evident through initiatives aimed at promoting vaccination and combating diseases such as malaria.

4. **Agriculture and Food Self-Sufficiency**
- The Vision 2016 policy you introduced aimed at achieving rice self-sufficiency, a crucial step towards enhancing food security in the country.
- Your administration actively promoted back-to-the-land campaigns and initiated large-scale farming projects, empowering farmers and boosting agricultural productivity.

5. **Telecommunications and Technology**
- You played a pivotal role in the formation of Gamtel and Gamcel, state-owned telecommunications companies that expanded mobile and internet services throughout the nation.
- Supporting the establishment of the Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) as a national broadcaster contributed to the dissemination of information and cultural expression.

6. **Tourism and Culture**
- Under your leadership, the tourism sector was recognized as a key economic driver. You championed initiatives that promoted The Gambia as a prime destination for tourists.
- Cultural events and national pride were fostered during your administration, including National Youth Conferences and celebrations of the July 22nd Revolution Day.

7. **National Sovereignty and Pan-Africanism**
- You were a vocal advocate for African unity, often standing against Western influence in African affairs.
- Your decision to withdraw The Gambia from the Commonwealth in 2013, though later reversed in 2018, underscored your commitment to national sovereignty.
- Declaring The Gambia an Islamic Republic in 2015 reflected your vision for the nation, a move that was also reversed by subsequent leadership.

On this special day, we reflect on these achievements and the journey that shaped The Gambia during your presidency. Happy birthday, and may your legacy continue to inspire future generations!

Wolahi, The Gambia is a small nation with immense potential for development. However, one of the significant challenges we face is the lack of patriotism among many of our citizens. Instead of prioritizing the common good, selfishness and greed have become prevalent. Since our independence, the wealth and resources of our country have been siphoned off by a small elite—less than two percent of the population—who have effectively looted the nation.

These powerful individuals emerged during the era of former President Sir Dawda Jawara, benefiting from a corrupt system that allowed them to amass wealth and influence. When President Yaya Jammeh came to power, he initially collaborated with these elites, who showered him with accolades and titles. However, as their relationship soured, they turned against him, actively working to undermine his efforts and his genuine love for the country.

Wolahi, these influential figures reside in strategically important areas within The Gambia and maintain connections with entities outside our borders. They exert significant control over critical government departments, particularly the judiciary and the Ministry of Lands, which further consolidates their power and influence. This dynamic poses a substantial barrier to the country's development and progress, making it essential for us to address these issues if we hope to build a brighter future for The Gambia.

The image above shows a police officer, identified as Bafoday Samateh, who is allegedly acting as an undercover operative during the demonstrations taking place in Banjul. We strongly encourage all protesters to stay vigilant and mindful of their surroundings during these events.

It is important to emphasize that participating in demonstrations is not illegal; it is a constitutionally protected right in The Gambia. We call for the release of all youths who may be unjustly detained in connection with these protests. Let us stand together in solidarity for our rights!
