Né du besoin de Simon Delart de canaliser des décennies d’influences pop : comics, cinéma, jeux vidéo et musique. Pop Family réunit un imaginaire nourri par les cultures des années 1980–1990, entre hommage et réinterprétation.

Mis à l’arrêt par la pandémie de 2020, Delart transforme ce temps suspendu en un projet ambitieux rassemblant ses univers les plus personnels. Le livre propose des illustrations denses, pensées comme des scènes monochromes façon « Où est Charlie ? », où se cache une véritable famille pop, riche en détails et personnages iconiques.

Pop Family est à la fois un jeu visuel et une déclaration d’amour à la culture qui a façonné l’artiste. Simon Delart, illustrateur français au style géométrique et épuré, s’impose comme un passeur de culture visuelle, condensant l’émotion et la mémoire des mythes modernes.

Born from Simon Delart’s need to channel decades of pop influences: comics, cinema, video games, and music. Pop Family blends 1980s–1990s pop culture through a constant dialogue between homage and reinterpretation.

Myriam Catrin is an illustrator and a VFX artist best known for her work on Smaug in “The Hobbit” amongst many other movies (Avatar, Man Of Steel, Wolverine, Fantastic Beasts, Alita, Man Of Steel ...). The dragon being her muse since an early age, she crafted many stories, concepts and designs around the mythological creature.

Simon spent every Wednesday afternoon in video rental stores, borrowing Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and films starring Stallone, Schwarzenegger, and Jackie Chan. After attending art school and working as an art director in a Parisian gallery, he discovered the work of Drew Struzan and Olly Moss. Seeking to stand out, he turned to pixel art and became one of its pioneers in France. He started with small squares before moving on to triangles; the experience proved to be a revelation. His favorite field remains the pop-culture universe he grew up with: cinema, TV series, science fiction, and video games.
