🎙 Rencontre avec Jérôme Gelès
Depuis près de 5 ans, une complicité artistique s’est tissée entre Jérôme Gelès et Laurence Pustetto. Une première collaboration en 2020 a confirmé l’importance de soutenir un tel artiste. Pour cette exposition ARCHIPELS, il offre un travail sensible et engagé, entre art et science.
Jérôme y présente un projet né de sa collaboration avec des scientifiques autour des bactéries marines. En résidence au laboratoire de Banyuls-sur-Mer, il plonge dans l’univers fascinant de ces micro-organismes invisibles, qu’il intègre dans ses œuvres sur agar-agar, dévoilant leur beauté insoupçonnée.
Il consacre également une série à ces créatures marines qui vont au grès des courants — les planctons, véritables joyaux du vivant, aux formes et couleurs infinies, responsables de 70% de l’oxygène que nous respirons.
Entre art et science, Jérôme Gelès nous invite à mieux regarder, à s’émerveiller et à prendre soin de ce monde fragile et essentiel : l’océan invisible.

Jérôme Gelès and Laurence Pustetto have forged a close artistic partnership over the past 5 years. An initial collaboration in 2020 confirmed the importance of supporting such an artist. For this ARCHIPELS exhibition, he offers a sensitive and committed body of work, somewhere between art and science.
Jérôme is presenting a project born of his collaboration with scientists on the subject of marine bacteria. In residence at the Banyuls-sur-Mer laboratory, he plunged into the fascinating world of these invisible micro-organisms, which he incorporated into his works on agar-agar, revealing their unsuspected beauty.
He has also devoted a series to these marine creatures that move with the currents - plankton, veritable jewels of the living world, with their infinite shapes and colours, responsible for 70% of the oxygen we breathe.
Somewhere between art and science, Jérôme Gelès invites us to take a closer look, to marvel and to care for this fragile but essential world: the invisible ocean.
