According to a recent report by HubSpot, Gen Z consumers are searching for products – but not necessarily the way other demographic groups do.

They tend to use more long-tail search terms than other generations, and that means they have specific ideas about the results that they want – no cluttered lists or general info.

It seems Gen Z is more than twice as likely to engage with a brand that is recommended by an influencer than other groups, information (including ads) that answers a specific question or need in a way that is clear and truthful – just like a friend or family member would – and this type of content sees the highest level of engagement from Gen Z consumers.

This trend could be rooted in trust, as according to Salesforce, 58% of Gen Z were least likely to take recommendations direct from brands.

The bottom line : Gen Z's desire to find what they want quickly means they pay more attention to influencers, friends and family recommendations than faceless ads!

Seems like Tik Tok and You Tube influencers still have a valuable place in the feed!

Truth bomb alert 💣 : even though you're running awesome ads, beware, your audience will eventually get tired of them.
And if you keep serving the same creatives over again, you'll see KPIs fall including spiralling costs, and lower click throughs.
This is called ad fatigue, or creative fatigue. 💤
The truth is there are multiple factors that impact it, including:
• Budget. The more you spend, the more impressions you’ll have – and the quicker you’ll reach the point where everyone has seen an ad at least once.
• Audience size. If your audience is huge, your ads are more likely to “hold up.” If it’s small… well, the more likely your ad will get seen by the same people over and over again.
• Number of ads. If you run an ad set with only one ad, it’s natural for it to run its course quicker than if you serve, say, five ads in an ad set.

❓How do you detect fatigue? Meta sometimes notifies you in the Delivery column if your ads have reached “Creative limited” or “Creative fatigue.”
But that’s not enough.
⏩ Switch your view to maximum number of days that your ad set has run by selecting “By Time” and then “By Week” in your “Breakdown” column.
⏩ This will help you follow trends over time. And yes, there will be oscillations, but is there a steady increase of costs during past weeks? Is it not profitable any more?
If not, then here’s what you should do:
• Create a new ad or ads. Show new images, videos, and ad copy to your audience that will throw them off or “resonate in different ways.”
• Increase audience size. This way you’ll reach more people and “stretch” your existing ads. You can use Advantage Detail Targeting or Advantage Lookalikes to allow Facebook to automatically move beyond your target audience.
• Try Meta Advantage+ creative. This feature helps you create variations of your ad automatically – but you’ll have to trust the system for it to work. Uh-oh…

That’s it! Ad fatigue is not a complex issue, but it is something to be aware of. Otherwise, your audience will yawn and sigh while they scroll past your ad… and nobody wants that. Are you ready to give your ads a refresh?

In case you missed our news on Tik Tok - seems the clock's still “ticking” on the top to top discussions over the platform's objective to swerve a US ban. Following the US's decision to sideline the app on government devices, this social media platform is doing its utmost to avoid a national ban…Why? For those not in the know.....

• Transparency talks: The discussions between ByteDance—TikTok’s parent company—and US officials are becoming heating up as ByteDance has proposed “measures to ensure oversight” in an attempt to reassure the US that TikTok can operate independently from its Chinese-based parent [data privacy is what's at stake here and we're talking more than the usual metrics monitored...]

• How? By developing a system and structure to change how TikTok recommends content and handles user data, apparently.....

ByteDance claims “significant progress has been made” already....

But, if the two parties fail to settle, who knows what the outcome will be....a blanket ban across the US market altogether—which would be rough for marketers....until a new challenger emerges.

• Why we care: It looks like the future of TikTok rests on these discussions, and the verdict could impact the entire marketing landscape.

If ByteDance can find a middle ground with US officials, there’s still hope we can keep scrolling—and advertising.

However, the new changes could also impact TikTok’s powerful algorithm for worse. Interesting times…
