⚠️ Big Changes for French Businesses: September 1, 2026
If you have a SIREN number in France, the rules for invoicing are changing, and for micro-entrepreneurs, this is a massive shift you cannot afford to ignore. Starting September 2026, even if you don't collect VAT (franchise en base), you are legally required to receive structured electronic invoices. Traditional PDFs sent via email will no longer be valid documents. From your bank fees and professional insurance to software like Canva or Google Workspace, your suppliers will stop sending "papers" and start sending digital data packets to a central directory.
Why this matters now:
Failing to set up a compliant platform to "catch" these invoices isn't just an administrative headache; it’s a major risk. You could face service cuts if you miss payments you didn't know were due, fines of €15 per invoice, and, most importantly, tax audit red flags caused by data mismatches.
For small business owners, getting ahead of this transition sooner rather than later is the only way to ensure your business keeps running smoothly.
Please share with other business owners who need to be aware of these changes so they can take action.
