Apparently, this is the face of “authoritative, cinematic storytelling.” 🎙️
Never doubted it for a minute! Right???
A recent voiceover client said this about me… (Excuse the self-indulgence, but it made my day.)
“Neil is a fantastic storyteller and an absolute professional to work with. He provided exactly the right authoritative, cinematic tone needed for my documentary projects.”
Voice work is a curious part of what I do, and one that has been hit particularly hard by the rise of terrible AI fakery.
When it’s done properly, the audience shouldn’t really be thinking about the person behind the microphone. They should simply be drawn into the story.
Finding the right pace, tone and emphasis can completely change how a film feels, particularly with documentary work.
It’s always satisfying to know that the voice in my head was also the voice the client had in theirs. (I think that makes the right kind of sense.)
A great break for a few hours whilst finishing off two new websites. :-)
