I think branding needs to get simpler again.
I was talking to a friend about this the other day and I’ve realised I’m stripping things back more and more in the work I’m creating.
There is SO much visual noise everywhere at the moment.
And AI has added to it. So many AI-generated images are incredibly busy, full of stuff and they just feel like AI.
They don’t feel like the person behind the business. They don’t really say anything about them at all.
And it’s making me want to go completely the other way.
I’m talking, clean layouts, strong typography, breathing space, striking photography and a considered amount of recognisable brand elements used really well.
Simple design doesn’t mean boring design!
And it definitely doesn’t mean you haven’t put enough effort into it.
Sometimes good design is knowing what not to add.
I think we’re all a bit overwhelmed by how much we’re seeing and consuming every day, and I’m finding myself thinking more and more about how I can make something clear, beautiful and easy to take in.
Rather than adding another thing to an already very noisy world.
Anyone else craving a bit more simplicity?
