Okay... where do you actually start with UGC? 😂

Because one person tells you to make a portfolio, another says you need a website, someone else says you need 10,000 followers and before you know it you’ve spent three weeks researching and still haven’t filmed a single video.

So here’s the order I’d do it if I was starting all over again.

No fluff. No gatekeeping. Just the seven steps I’d follow to get from absolutely nothing to being ready to pitch brands.

Honestly, don’t overthink it. Your first videos won’t be perfect, and they don’t need to be. Just get them filmed and improve as you go.

Save this for later because you’ll definitely forget one of the steps... I know I would. 😂

Where are you at? Thinking about starting, building your portfolio, or already landing brand deals?

For years I thought confidence came before action.

It doesn’t.

Confidence comes from collecting evidence that you can do hard things.

Every pitch you send, every piece of content you post and every uncomfortable step you take, chips away at the fear until one day, the thing that used to terrify you becomes part of your normal routine.

You don’t need permission to contact brands. You don’t need to wait until you have more followers or a prettier portfolio.

You just need to send the first message.

What’s one thing you’ve been putting off because you’re worried about hearing “no”?

Watching Ada create this ad with me made me realise something.

Children don’t spend hours wondering whether they’re good enough. They don’t compare themselves to everyone else. They don’t wait until they feel confident.

They just have a go.

As adults, we do the opposite.

We watch another tutorial.
Save another post.
Buy another course.
Tell ourselves we’ll start when we know just a little bit more.

But if you’ve watched 100 UGC videos this month and still haven’t pitched a single brand…

Your problem isn’t knowledge anymore.

It’s the story you’re telling yourself about why you can’t start.

The UGC Playbook isn’t designed to overwhelm you with information.

It’s designed to get you taking action.

📖 Read it in 30 minutes.
🚀 Put it into action today.

Don’t learn another UGC tip.

Go and use this one.

Every creator talks about improving their filming.

Or their editing.

Or buying a better camera.

Those things matter.

But none of them matter if nobody knows you exist.

The skill that changed everything for me wasn’t learning to create better content...

It was learning how to market myself.

Because brands don’t hire creators they never notice.

They hire creators who position themselves in a way that’s impossible to ignore.

Don’t just invest in becoming a better creator.

Invest in becoming a better marketer too.

That’s exactly why I created The UGC Playbook—to help creators stop blending in and start getting noticed.

I got my first UGC booking on Fiverr within 24 hours of signing up... and here’s what I think made the difference.

I didn’t just tell buyers I was a UGC creator.

I told them why they should choose me.

I highlighted my 20+ years in marketing, my professional filming equipment, my Law degree and what made me different from everyone else.

Because buyers aren’t just looking for someone who can film.

They’re looking for someone they trust to represent their brand.

So when you’re setting up your Fiverr profile, don’t just ask yourself,

‘What do I offer?’

Ask yourself,

‘Why should someone hire me instead of the next creator?’

That one question can completely change how you position yourself.

I’ve had loads of people ask me how I got started on Fiverr.

Most people expect me to talk about the algorithm, creating better videos or optimising their profile.

But in my experience, that’s not what changed everything.

The biggest shift came when I stopped thinking like a content creator and started thinking like a marketer.

That same mindset has helped me grow my UGC business, land brand collaborations and build a career doing something I genuinely love.

That’s exactly why I created The UGC Playbook.

It’s not another guide full of templates to copy. It’s designed to help you understand why marketing works, so you can stop blending in and start getting noticed.

If you’re serious about building a UGC business, I think this will change the way you approach it.
