Sometimes I think Billingham gets massively underestimated.
There’s a perception that you have to travel elsewhere to find great food, great places and people doing something different. But the more we explore our own doorstep, the more we realise just how much Billingham has to offer. ❤️
We visited The Crafty C**k on station road with our son and enjoyed some absolutely cracking tapas, but what stood out to us just as much as the food was the people behind the business.
These are local business owners putting the graft in day after day, creating places for our communities to enjoy and constantly trying to make their businesses better. And they deserve a lot more recognition for it.
The Crafty C**k is a brilliant example of what can be achieved right here in our own town. Good food, a great atmosphere and, most importantly, people who clearly care about what they're building.
That’s exactly why we started Teesside Hidden Gems.
We want to shine a light on the businesses, the people and the stories that sometimes get overlooked. Because there are so many hidden gems right on our doorstep, and Billingham has more than its fair share.
So next time you're thinking about heading somewhere else for a good night out, have a look a little closer to home first.
