Port Sunlight really is one of Wirral’s little treasures. 🌿✨

Founded by William Hesketh Lever in 1888 for workers at the Lever Brothers soap factory, the village was designed around beautiful homes, green spaces, culture and community, and more than 130 years later, that character is still everywhere you look.

At its heart is the magnificent Lady Lever Art Gallery, founded by Lever in memory of his wife Elizabeth, alongside Port Sunlight Museum and the Worker’s Cottage, the Leverhulme Memorial, War Memorial, Hillsborough Memorial Garden, Christ Church, Gladstone Theatre and Hulme Hall.

And between the history and incredible architecture, there are some brilliant local independents to discover too, including Nettle Café, Tudor Rose Tea Rooms, Cobble & Hay and Port Sunlight Garden Centre. ☕🌱
It’s the kind of place where the best thing to do is simply wander, look around and see what you find.

✨They remember your usual order.
✨They ask how your week has been.
✨They notice when they have not seen you for a while.

That sense of connection is one of the things independent businesses do best and it is what turns a collection of shops, cafés and venues into a real community 💛

Our very first Ping Collective event brought together some of the brilliant independent businesses already part of Ping Local for an evening of conversation, connection and community.

✨ A huge thank you to Craig and Aneta at for hosting us so warmly, and to Caleb from Ciccio for sharing his story with the room ✨

For us, Ping Local has always been about more than simply listing businesses on an app. We work in partnership with independents, taking the time to understand that no two businesses are the same and that the right support looks different for everyone.

And now, our new and improved Ping Local app is live📱✨

It’s completely free to download from the App Store and Google Play, helping you discover a growing collection of brilliant independent places to eat, drink, shop, visit and experience across Wirral.
