When I cast people, I do not only check big names. I look at how they carry a character. I love actors who forget themselves and enter the role. Even when the script is weak, you can still see their hard work and heart inside every scene.

That is why I value people like Tonto on my projects. She gives everything. For a producer or screenwriter, that kind of dedication is gold. It means your story will breathe on screen. It also challenges you to keep writing better roles for such committed talents.

I do not like to burden people with my problems, but many people come to me with theirs. They sit with me and pour out their hearts, and I listen. I give advice, I crack small jokes, and I try to make them feel lighter when they leave. They call me a strong friend, a safe place.

But sometimes, after helping everyone, I go to my room and cry alone. I also have heavy days when I feel confused and tired. I just do not always know how to say it out loud. So I am learning to open up to a small circle, to remember that I also deserve shoulders to lean on.

My relationship did not start as a quick fairy tale. Before we began to date, we spent about two years simply knowing each other from a distance. We watched how we both handled work, faith, and pressure. That quiet season of observation helped us build trust without rushing into titles or public displays. It also gave me time to pray honestly about him.

When we finally dated and later got engaged, I felt a deep peace that I cannot fake. I am not expecting a perfect man, but I wanted someone whose heart is turned toward God and who understands my assignment. Of all the blessings God has given me, this one feels extra precious. A life partner can lift you or break you. I am grateful that I can build, laugh, and dream safely with mine.

My partner is not a media person.
She has her own life and her own dreams that are separate from mine.
I want my girls to grow up and choose what they want for themselves.
They should not feel forced into acting or fame because of my job.

When Love in Every Word came out, everything changed for her.
Her private page suddenly got more than five hundred friend requests.
People were knocking on that online door, trying to get inside.
Some sent messages about seeing me kiss someone on screen and wanted juicy gist.

I did not plan for this side of success.
I wanted to just do my work quietly.
But God has his own way of moving things.
So now I protect my family as much as I can and still show up fully for the craft I love.

Becoming a mother changed more than my home. It changed my work too. I now think about the kind of films my children will grow up and watch. I want them to see my work and feel proud, not shy or sad. That feeling guides me a lot.

We live in a world with many strong traditions and customs. Some things are not kind or safe for young minds. So I look at each script very closely. I ask myself if this is something my children should see one day. If the answer is no, then I say no.

I never want to embarrass my kids. I want my work to bless them and make them smile when they hear my name.

Our power in Nollywood is our local stories. Those old films we made laid the foundation for what you see today. The world now watches because our culture is rich, strange to them, and very real. You cannot exhaust the stories inside Nigeria.

When I worked on one of my early big roles, I went to live around farm settlements. I watched how people there walked, talked, and survived. Children ran after bikes, people were excited just to see a car. I needed to feel their life so I could carry it into that character. That is true storytelling.

I did not know how far Nollywood had gone until I started to travel. One day I was in a shopping mall in Maryland in America. I thought I was free, just walking like a normal man. Then a lady saw me and said I looked like that guy from Nigerian movies. I denied it and walked away.

Soon another African woman saw me and said the same thing. Then a Nigerian woman came, called my name, and did not let me escape. In that moment I understood something big. Our films had reached Africans in many countries. Nollywood was not just a local thing anymore. It was touching people in the diaspora far from home.

People often want to know what inspired me to start acting, and the honest answer is my mum. She was the one who opened that door for me and encouraged me to try it. At first, it was something I just followed because of her guidance and support.

Along the line, acting stopped being just something I did because of my mum and became a real passion. It turned into a career I genuinely love, even when it is stressful or demanding. Knowing that my journey started from my mother’s push and later grew into my own dream makes it even more special to me. It reminds me that sometimes people see potential in you before you see it in yourself.

I grew up in a house where television was like a small cinema. My father loved films. He would sit on his big chair and watch, and we children would stand behind, peeping at the screen. From there I started copying actors, repeating their lines and their movements.

Even before Nollywood became big, I knew acting was inside me. Once I watched a movie, I could remember almost every scene and act it out from the beginning to the end. That gift pushed me to go and study theatre arts so that I could become truly professional.

School gave me things the street could never give, and the street also taught me what no classroom could offer. When you put both together, you become dangerous in a good way. That mix of raw talent and training is what still drives my work today as an actor.

From very early on, I made sure my children understood that talent and fame are worthless without character. They know how passionate I am about humanity and about simply doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching. I keep telling them that one of the biggest problems in our world is that we stopped loving and caring for each other in basic ways.

In our house, humility and respect are non negotiable, no matter how big you become. I will happily bow to greet anyone, older or younger, because honour is not about status. I also teach them that love is not weakness; it is powerful energy that can soften even the hardest person over time. If they carry these values into their own marriages and parenting one day, I will feel my work as a father is complete.

I love being a mother so much that I want to go through pregnancy at least two times. I pray that God blesses me with twins next time. If that happens, that will be my last pregnancy. Three children will be enough joy for my heart and my home.

I already plan to tattoo my son’s name on my body because my love for him is that deep. I did not even need a scan to feel he was a boy. I just knew inside. Maybe I will add my husband’s name later. For now, my first mark is for this little king who changed my life in a way I never saw coming.
