My A-Level Graphic Communication Final Piece. Introducing: Flick, Kit, Pleck and Pitch from Open Mic 🎤🥁 This is my best piece of graphic design work, all beginning from my own project brief. I spent months researching pop-rock bands, personality stereotypes, instruments, aesthetics, outfits and more. I went to festivals and gigs to take my own photographs as life references and researched artists like and .art to influence the style. I even went to sites to take pictures of local graffiti to give it that rebel vibe. Designed for teenagers and young adults, I designed the 4 characters from scratch and the project took 8 months to complete. Each character has their own personality and qualities, followed by their preferred instrument. The concept behind Open Mic is that they all use each other's instruments, taking turns to sing, I hope to expand on this project one day to see them animated energetically on a stage. The poster combines my own traditional and digital artwork. Illustrations being drawn in marker and fineliner, as well as the digital work making use of Photoshop.
