Greenwood Management recently had a meeting with SIAS Solihull, and we’ve decided to work together to help support our community.
Being someone from the community myself, I know this area has its struggles — whether that’s drug misuse, alcohol, mental health, loneliness, or just life getting on top of people.
And when I say there’s a problem, I don’t mean the pub — I mean Chelmsley Wood and the surrounding areas as a whole.
As manager of The Greenwood Pub, I spend a lot of time talking to customers and members of the public who are struggling and who need support.
Not only am I a landlord, but I’m also someone people come to for a chat in confidence. Whether it’s a quick conversation at closing time, a chat while I’m in the shop, or even messages on social media at 2–3am in the morning — all of these have happened.
Sometimes I feel like I don’t always know the right thing to do, other than help where I can.
That’s why Greenwood Management believes it’s a great idea to promote services like SIAS as much as possible.
And just to be clear — SIAS isn’t only for people dealing with drug issues. They are there for anyone who feels alone, is struggling with life, facing personal problems, or simply needs someone to talk to in confidence.
Over the next few weeks, you’ll start seeing beer mats and posters around the pub with helpline numbers and support information.
Please share this post.
Even if this helps just one person, that’s one person we’ve helped — and that matters ❤️
