It’s a lot harder to show up online consistently when we’re hyper-focusing on ourselves ↓

Worrying what people will think of your posts, overthinking the messaging and re-writing it a million times, and then obsessing over how many likes you get.

But when you shift the focus onto the person you’re trying to help, everything changes.

💭 Instead of thinking: “What should I post today?”

💭 Start thinking: “What does my ideal customer need to hear today?”

It’s a small shift, but it makes content creation feel far more purposeful.

You’re no longer posting to tick a box or chasing vanity metrics.

You’re sharing something because it could genuinely help someone.

And if likes and views are something you find yourself obsessing over, try turning your like count off for a few weeks.

It helps bring the focus back to creating valuable content, rather than measuring your success against a number ⭐

I genuinely hear this statement from business owners every single week:

“I know I should be posting more, I just don’t have the time.”

And whilst time is definitely a factor, I’ve found it’s rarely the root cause.

More often than not, people are stuck or procrastinating because they’re unsure what to post, they don’t feel confident creating content, or their content simply doesn’t feel aligned with their business.

When you have clarity around who you’re speaking to, what you want to say and why you’re posting in the first place, social media starts to feel a lot less overwhelming.

My first job out of university taught me the foundations of email marketing 💌

I’ve always remembered this diagram because it breaks things down so simply.

But actually, this concept really applies to all marketing, including social media content, as it’s the foundation to what we’re trying to achieve.

For content to connect: you need to reach the right person with the right message.

For content to convert: you need to reach the right person, with the right message, at the right time.

I think we’re all consuming so much information nowadays that it’s easy to overcomplicate things.

But when you strip it back, most marketing comes down to understanding who you’re trying to reach, what they need to hear and when they need to hear it.

Hopefully this helps you to refocus and remember what it all comes down to 🤍
