Businesses are curious to hear what you think, so they want to hear your opinions, rather than just a yes/no answer. Plus you get paid for taking part! People often associate market research with questionnaires, carried out face-to-face or over the phone. This is often part of a qua
ntitative study (dealing in numbers). But that is precisely not what we are about. We are looking for people to participate in qualitative research, which is more in-depth and thought provoking. Qualitative research comes in different shapes and sizes. Usually, it involves a group discussion at a viewing facility with six to eight people and a moderator who guides the discussion. But it can also come in the form of a one-to-one interview at a viewing facility, a store visit or even an in-home visit. Whatever the method of research, a highly trained researcher (or moderator as they are sometimes called) will be involved. They use specific techniques to understand your thoughts and impressions about the issue at hand. They are keenly interested in why people behave the way they do. So you will often be asked lots of questions about what, where, when or how you did something. So that they can understand why people behave the way they do. People who take part in research often say that they learn a great deal from the process. We know it’s a bit boring but please take a moment to read through our Community Code which sets out some basic ground rules which we have listed below.
