Grow Bradford Grow Bradford promotes Community Led Food Growing & Biodiversity across Bradford District.

Grow Bradford has 2 main aims.

1) It is an initiative to promote and increase food growing (and biodiversity) in Bradford. 2) It aims to promote resource and information sharing and a spirit of cooperation in order for a variety of organisations and individuals to work together to best effect in promoting and increasing food growing (and biodiversity) in Bradford

These are put in to effect th

rough the 3 following main objectives:

a) Connecting: In order to do this Grow Bradford engages in networking and documenting food growing projects and activities, and those linked projects and activities that improve biodiversity. b) Growing: Grow Bradford is also involved in practical permaculture, food growing initiatives in order to engage more people in such activities and to create more spaces and practitioners to work in such ways. c) Mapping: Grow Bradford emphasizes using mapping, art and a creative, visual approach to engage people and promote information through a website and in other venues and activities.

Join BEES and Bradford Apple Group in Bowling Community Orchard for a fun day celebrating all things apple!

The orchard is within Bowling Park Allotments on Bowling Park Drive. What3Words//wiser.cuts.tight

This annual event celebrates all things apple, pear and native fruits as well as encouraging food production, community cohesion, engagement in nature, education and entertainment.

Between 12 and 4pm there will be;
- stalls
- cafe
- organic chutney, sauce and jam sales
- home-made cakes and treats - native fruit related
- art and craft stalls for children
- seed sales
- juicing fresh apples with a traditional press
- music

We always need help both prior to the event to prepare the organic orchard and on the day to;
- help set up before 10am
- help run a stall or activity - between 10am and 4pm - part day is fine
- help take down at the end of the day - after 4pm
- bakers and home chefs to make orchard fruit related cakes, snacks and savoury treats
- makers of jam, chutney sauce and fruit related goods to sell on our stall

Of course, you and your family and friends can always enjoy the day in our gorgeous orchard as well as volunteering with us.

Would you like to join Bradford Libraries on a Sensory Nature Trail at Bracken Hall Countryside Centre?
Join us for a family-friendly adventure as we explore Shipley Glen with a sensory trail in nature:
We will stop to listen to sounds in nature and draw a sound map.
We will play a game where we look for different textures, using magnifying glasses and mirrors to look at nature up close!
The we’ll head back to Bracken Hall for refreshments and enjoy nature themed arts and crafts.
Come dressed for the outdoors, bring your sense of adventure and come ready to explore the magic of Shipley Glen with us.
Saturday 13th June 1pm-3pm
