Only four days to go 😊

I cannot believe how fast our first headshot day has come around!

🌍 Today is International Earth Day 🌎

Did you know that today marks the 50th anniversary of this annual event that covers over 193 countries. Bringing awareness of the various environmental challenges that OUR planet faces 👀

For 2022 the theme is "restore the earth".

So I am not going to bore you with loads of facts and statistics, which I can if you like 😉

I think it is pretty clear that our planet needs help and we "humans" as a collective have not taken the best care of earth.

But we still have the ability to help even with small changes and kind actions.

Heres some of the things I have and try to implement in my day to day life.

♻️ Where possible recycle, reuse or compost.

I try to limit food waste and use plastic free options by using zero waste store like
Here I can bring or reuse my own container and get only what I need. If I see rubbish on the ground I pick it up and dispose of correctly.

🚙 Travel / delivery

If I'm ordering items for delivery I try to have them in one delivery opposite to multiple. I also try organise it so when I have to drive somewhere if there are several locations I need to visit I do it all together. This brings down my carbon footprint a little bit.

🌳🌾 Sustainability

I try be conscious of the products I use and see if there sustainably sourced, recycled and fair trade. Where possible I shop local to support local businesses too. I even have my own mini veg and herb patch at home.

There other little bits I do. I am not perfect and just try each day to make a little bit of a difference and if we all do a little bit to together it will make a big difference.

That's how I feel when I see my creatives using their images be it as a profile image or in a social media post. Every time I see one I do a happy dance 💃

For me the images used with your captions is my version of a finishing touch.

I love a good selfie 📸

There a great way to show what your upto, who your with and gives you images to show up online with.

However when your in the mist of doing your thing (like Steve was here) taking a selfie is not ideal.

Your totally focused on what you do best and don't want to break the flow.

Tada, SJ to the rescue 🦸🏼‍♀️

Seriously though, having me work with you to capture your day means you can be yourself, do your thing and know that you will have an awesome bank of images ready to go whenever you want.

What do you do when the creative well runs dry - Day out anyone?

With January and February being cold and wet. Add in the recovery needed after the hecticness of Christmas, it's safe to say it did not take long for my creative well to run dry.

So a change of scenery was needed, with the sun making a rare but bright appearance last Sunday I took my youngest to The Harley Gallery at the Welbeck Estate. (Which turns out is only 12 minutes away).😒

The Harley Gallery was small but sweet with a mix of textiles and paintings and some gorgeous contemporary pieces😁

As I am a very tactile person my daughter who is 11yrs “kept an eye on me” just in case I broke the rules and touched something.

I mean you would think I know how to follow rules by now 😉

The very helpful ladies pointed out the museum, bonus the Portland Collection was in there, amazingly massive portraits going back centuries, traditional and fabulously intercut inlaid opal furniture and sparkly jewels. (So pretty.)

Talk about two for one 😊

Though photography is my medium I take inspiration from many thing’s and I love galleries especially when you don’t read up on what’s featuring so it’s a big surprise.

I find it opens my mind to colours, textures, humanity and my sense of wonder that can get lost when submerged in day-to-day life.

So I am going to plan a day each month purely for creative inspiration💚
