Was sifting through the hard drives for a client today, and found some footage we took of these gorgeous horses over a year ago!

I captured this just off the coast road on the way from Bridport to Weymouth. I just happened to have my camera on me, and we weren’t in a screaming rush, so we pulled over to grab a few shots.

What a treat to have these beauties as drawn to us as we were to them. Absolutely gorgeous! I only had my 80mm lens with me, which provided a bit of a challenge when they were trying to nuzzle us, especially with the restriction of being directly on the side of a major road. As a result: I ended up getting some shots I don’t think I would have tried had I not been working with the space restraints… and they happen to be some of my favourite shots!

A good reminder to myself that sometimes you have to step outside of your comfort zone and try new things. Adding limitations can actually increase creativity!

I put together a few of my favourite highlights from the footage, grabbed some music from and put this together so I could share their beauty with you ❤️

We had such a great time at the Jazz Jurassica and Clocktower Records gig on Saturday night, where we got to see the Tootin’ Hoodlum’s opening up for Dom Pipkin as part of “The Birth of Cool” festival taking place in Bridport.

It was a packed room full of smiles, tapping toes, and so much talent 😍

If this looks like your idea of a good time, and you haven’t had a chance to take in one of the many brilliantly curated stages put on as a part of “The Birth of Cool”: don’t worry, you’ve still got time!

March 19 - Harry Dowell’s Trio & Leonian Dream Trio at Clocktower Records
March 21 - Neil Maya Quartet 1959 at the Electric Palace
March 21 - Jazz Funk Emporium at Clocktower Records
March 24 - Maggie Reeday at the Electric Palace Foyer

For more information and to snag up the last of the tickets available: please visit Jazz Jurassica’s website!

We had a great time hosting Wessex Woodwind in our podcasting suite today. Peter spent the afternoon interviewing musician and peripatetic music teacher Emma Griffin, who has been working with them to develop some flutes, for their debut podcast episode!

If you’re interested in music, and the development of musical instruments: make sure you toss Wessex Woodwind a follow and keep your eyes peeled for when Ep. 1 is released 😍

P.S. They’re currently hunting for a name for their podcast, and would love your input! If you’ve got any suggestions, please drop them in the comments below ⬇️

A beautiful evening stroll on the beach last night with our pups. This hot weather is lovely - but it’s so hard on our furry friends!

If you’re like us, and you’re struggling with pups who don’t understand why they’re being cooped up all day: East Beach, West Bay, Bridport is a dog friendly paradise. With one point of entry, it’s ideal for doggies who like to run off... because you can block their access out!

We usually aim to get there for sunrise, or sunset, because the temperatures aren’t too horrendous, and the water offers a quick way to cool down for all of us.

There is parking along the esplanade, making it easy to access with minimal pavement walking for those pawpaws, and the bonus of going early in the morning/later at night is that you can avoid the astronomical summer parking rates. Paid parking is between 8 AM-6PM, so as long as you’re there before or after those times, you won’t have to sell a kidney for the luxury of beach access in Bridport.

Where’s your favourite cool place to escape to in the summer heat?

It was WONKY POT RESTOCK DAY at Josie Holliday's gallery in Abbotsbury yesterday, and I was lucky enough to be manning the shop for it!

I absolutely love Wonky Pots, and how every single piece created is completely unique. These little masterpieces are crafted entirely by hand, and are full of so much character and beauty. Functional art is just so cool. One day I would like to fill my house with Wonky Pots 😀

These unique pieces are all available now at Josie's studio - I highly recommend stopping by and checking them out if you are as smitten with hand thrown pottery as I am.

The Beach and Barnicott is back, and this gal couldn’t be happier about it!

I had the pleasure of stopping by this afternoon for a quick coffee and a catch up with a friend - and I snapped a few quick shots while I was there. They’ve really done a great job bringing life back to this space, and the coffee was delicious. I’m looking forward to returning for some food, and experiencing more of what they have to offer in the near future :)

If you’re passing through Bridport, The Beach & Barnicott is well worth a visit!

Turning a power outage into a morning outing at Goose and Badger in Bridport!

Where's your favourite place for a local coffee?

When a meeting this morning was postponed, and the power in Waytown went down, I decided to take myself for a solo working date at one of my favourites: Goose and Badger!

I knew there was a reason I threw my camera in my bag before I left...

This is such a local gem!

Located at the entrance to the historical Electric Palace, this is a must add stop if you're passing through Bridport. The coffee is strong (they roast it!), the treats are scrumptious and the space is full of natural light and beautifully decorated - it's definitely an inspiring place to spend some time. These guys are open late on weekends, and host regular live music events. While the space itself is quite small, there is ample seating and it's not uncommon to share a table and strike up a conversation with a new friend!

Lately I've been trying to challenge myself, by setting imitations to see what I can create within set restrictions. Today, I wanted to capture everything I would use in under 5 minutes, and with only one lens. I moved quite quickly, and am surprisingly happy with how this turned out.

Back home now and working from my office corner in 's new studio and looking forward to heading to the beach for an evening swim after work!
