I feel like I see these horrendous posters everywhere, especially in local groups 😵‍💫

I’m sure other designers would agree with me, but I’d much rather see something scribbled on a bit of paper than these soulless things! It really cheapens your brand and signals to others that your event isn’t worth going to as the creator doesn’t even want to invest in it

I get that there are financial restraints, but with the amount of free templates out there, it’s not like hiring a designer is the only option! 🎨

How to prevent a brand scandal on social media 🗞️🙊

Making a mistake on social media is almost inevitable, it’s how you handle it that really matters. People remember how you responded to backlash and can quickly choose not to support your business if they see you as someone who doesn’t deserve it.

However, there are a few things that you can do that can “controversy” being a suggested term alongside searching your brand:

Do ✅
• Attempt to resolve the issue
• Take accountability and keep the conversation open
• Remain respectful
• Release a statement as soon as you can, from the founder and anyone else involved
• Keep any evidence of correspondence

Don’t ❌
• Use AI to write a script or statement
• “Clap back” or try to make witty remarks
• Delete negative comments or turn off commenting altogether
• Block anyone giving critiques or constructive criticism
• Release statements on where people won’t see it
• Blame it on the “intern”

These are things I’ve personally witnessed from brands in the past, both big and small. However it’s always best to consult with a PR specialist if you’re unsure of how to handle something!

How I did this gothic lettering: 🥀🏰

This is definitely more of an artistic rather than a practical font, but don’t forget that you can play around with how the letters look to your liking! 💜

Text reads “1. Make a moodboard” with a moodboard of different images, including lettering.

Text reads “2. Rough placement inside alignment box” and “move letters around if needed”.

Text reads “3. Edit shape and flourishing”

Text reads “4. Finalise shape and do base colour”

Text reads “5. add shading” and “Here I used shades of purple and reduced the opacity”

Text reads “6. Add highlights” and “Use the ‘add’ blend mode for the shiniest parts”

Text reads “7. Export!” And “Turn off the background and export as a PNG”

How I edit photos without being deceptive

I believe that photo editing should be used to enhance brands’ pictures, not change them (unless you’re doing something editorial). When I take social media photos for clients, I focus on enhancing what was already there, putting the spotlight on what makes an item unique. My overall goal is to show products as they appear in-person but also in their best light (pun intended 😌)

For this photo of ren at the متجرالقيصرلبيع كافه المنتجات pride market, I focused on the area around the items, removing things that could distract from the image, such as scuffs on the table and the background. When you’re looking at a photo, you don’t get the same experience as seeing something in-person, so I always slightly adjust the contrast to make things clearer to see. Often it’s very subtle, but when you compare it to what you started with, it adds that something extra.

P.S. check out ren’ art and follow them if you like pretty boys 😉

Content ideas for: bands and singers (part 3) 🪉🎼

Song second 🕰️
Pick a random song and try to guess which song it is. You can then play a short clip of the song (with the name). This is a fun game that also exposes more snippets of your music within one video. Works only as a video!

Instrument switch 🥁
Musical chairs but with your instruments! Pick a song and each member has 15 seconds of that song to play before switching to the next instrument. End on the right roles. This can help the audience connect with you and makes them more likely to watch until the end to see how the song should sound. For obvious reasons, this only works as a video!

Eyes closed 🙈
Self explanatory! Play a portion of a song with your eyes closed (or ears plugged if you’re singing) and let the chaos ensue! At the end you could insert a clip of how the song actually sounds. Perfect for letting people see a more humorous side and connect with you. Another video-only idea!

Songs as paintings 🖼️
Assign a painting that reminds you of one of your songs. It can be a famous one or one you find (make sure you can credit them though). This will help people to better understand your music and make a lasting impression. You could also invite people to submit their own answers! Works as either a video or a carousel.
