Raining Mutts and Moggs is a fabulous business which started out last year, and is growing at an amazing pace.

Facebook Ads have been instrumental in getting the word out to thousands of pet owners, finding their customers, and launching new products.

I've really enjoyed working with Selina & Jo, the business owners, and my dog has been a very willing taste tester for their new treats range. If you have a cat or dog - definitely check them out:

I think one of my favourite things about Facebook Ads is that you don't need enormous budgets to get results. It is getting trickier, with tracking issues and constant updates, so if you are thinking of running ads, or would like some advice on any campaigns you have going, just drop me a DM. We can look together to make sure you are getting the most for your money.

Did you know that when you are running ads on Facebook & Instagram, the Facebook bots aren't just checking that your advert meets their terms and conditions. They are also scraping your landing page and website to make sure that it does too.

Facebook checks a number of factors before running an ad, such as making sure where ad viewers are sent makes sense, that the content and tone of your website matches that of your ad, and much more.

If you are thinking of running ads in the New Year, now more than ever it is important to get an expert on board. I'd love to have a chat with you if this is something you are considering.

πŸ€–Send me a DM and we can make a plan.

Have you been wondering whether your business should be on TikTok?

The statistics are very impressive, in April this year it was up to 2.6 billion downloads, and had the best quarter of any app ever. The growth has been astronomical, Facebook for example took 10 years to reach the same level that TikTok now has. The 3.7 million active UK users is forecasted to grow to 10 million by the end of this year.

Previously only really used by GenZ, it is now gaining popularity with older demographics. TikTok for business launched in June this year, and with it came a whole range of useful tools and support to tempt more brands across to their platforms.

Having said all that, I don't think it is the right platforms for every business. If you wanted a free 15 min call I would be happy to discuss whether I think it could work for you. Just send me a message.

Who hasn't made mistakes with their social media, but here are 3 common ones to avoid...

1. Posting & Ghosting πŸ‘» It is really important to stick around after you have posted and respond to any comments, and engage with your followers. The more engagement your post gets initially, the further out it will be shared by the algorithm. I've found being active on the platform for 15 mins before and at least 15 mins after posting really helps this.

2. Being too Salesy πŸ€‘ Posting just about your business and your products comes across as spammy and annoying. Instead think about what your audience is interested in, what you have in common, and how you can help them. For example sharing tips, or answer any questions.

3. Trying to be Everywhere 😫 It is really tempting to have a presence everywhere, but unless you have a team to help, this will be a struggle. Especially now you could be adding Clubhouse and TikTok into the mix. It is better to be consistently on 1-2 platforms where your target audience are, and build up an engaged following there. The algorithm will prioritise your content if you post and engage with other accounts regularly.

I'd love to know what other mistakes you've made on social.

Have you ever tried Social Listening?

This is where you monitor what your customers are saying about your business online. This valuable feedback can help to glean insights about your products or services and discover anything that may not be working so well.

It gives the chance to address any complaints or negative comments, and to strengthen relationships with happy customers. It can also be used to track what is and isn't working for your competitors.

If you wanted to test out social listening, i've found mention.com pretty user-friendly & they also have a 14 day free trial period.

I love Facebook and Instagram for discovering brands, and especially seeing products in action via Reels, but how do you show your customers that they should take that leap and put their trust and money in you?

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Sharing customer reviews are a great way to build trust, as well as welcoming any feedback from customers.

πŸ‘‹ Introducing yourself regularly. Share a bit about yourself, why you set up your business, and what is important to you.

❀️ Finding your community and being active there. Offering help and support wherever you can, or sharing useful tips that you have discovered along the way.

πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ By demonstrating your expertise and adding value to your audience. This could be by answering some questions in a Live or via the sticker in Stories.

πŸ‘€ Share what you are working on now, or future plans that you have. I love a look behind the scenes of a new business, or a day in the life of someone working there on Stories.

Let me know any other ways you have of building up that trust with potential customers, by leaving a comment below πŸ‘‡

With the ideal number for posting on Facebook & Instagram between 5-7 a week, that is a lot of content to create! Here are some ideas to help:

πŸ’‘ Introduce the business owners & share your brand story.
πŸ’‘ Behind the scenes of your location or any photoshoots etc.
πŸ’‘ Meet the team.
πŸ’‘ Run polls and ask questions to encourage engagement.
πŸ’‘ Customer reviews or client testimonials.
πŸ’‘ Share your brand values & what is important to you
πŸ’‘ Support for your local community
πŸ’‘ Give a sneak peek at any new ideas or products coming soon.

There is no way around it, social media is very time-consuming for business owners. Here are some tips to help speed things up:

1. Repurposing content can be a huge win, whether it is something small like resizing an image in Canva (a graphic design tool which I highly recommend!), or transcribing a Live Video from IGTV into a blog, or editing into a podcast. Not only will this save time creating content, but it will also give you a chance of reaching a new audience who may prefer the different format.

2. A scheduling tool allows you to timetable your content to be posted in one go. These are then posted on the day & time you choose, without needing to log in. πŸ™Œ I use either Content Cal or Facebook Creator Studio, then Planoly for Instagram as it shows a mock-up of how the grid will look & stores groups of hashtags. A real time saver.

3. Lastly, it is better to be on 1-2 platforms well, than be on all of them badly. Do your research to find out where your potential customers are, then smash it there. If you need some help, get in touch and we can design a winning strategy for your business.
