How many colours do you actually have in your wardrobe and, more importantly, do they work together? If getting dressed feels harder than it should, chances are your wardrobe is missing a bit of strategy.

✨ A focused colour palette is a game changer.
When your wardrobe is built around the colours that suit you, everything starts to click.

Let’s talk about green — one of the most versatile and potentially underrated colours in your wardrobe. 💚

The best part? There’s a green for everyone. From warm olives and khakis to cool forests and icy mints, there's a green for every skin tone — when you know which greens are right for you.

Green also makes a brilliant coloured neutral. What does that mean? It’s a colour when paired with neutrals such as white, cream or black - but it can act like a neutral too when paired with other colours. Think of it as a grounding shade that pairs effortlessly with other colours, just like navy (a blue), camel or grey.

Whether you are warm or cool, bright or soft, light or deep - there’s are lots of greens for you.

Not sure which green is your green? I can help you find out. DM me to book your personal colour analysis (online or in person) and if you book before 31st August, it’s just £157.

You might be surprised how good green can look on you. ✨

Let’s talk about black - a classic and classy neutral that many people rely on and wear without thinking twice. It’s timeless, it’s bold, but it’s not the only neutral that can make you look and feel amazing.

Sometimes black can feel heavy or draw attention in ways you didn’t expect, especially if it doesn’t harmonise with your natural colouring.

In colour analysis, we explore three things: how light or deep your tones are, whether you are warm or cool, and if you look best in bright or softer shades. Black is technically cool, bright, and deep - which means it’s a perfect match for some, but not for everyone.

If you're wearing black because you love it, please carry on! I will never stop you in the street to tell you off! I wear black myself, when I know that browns, beiges and khakis are much better neutrals for me. BUT if you're wearing it because you don't know what else to wear or are wearing it to hide or don't know your best neutrals, we need to talk!

If you’re curious whether black works for you or you're ready to find your perfect, colourful palette full of colours that do work, DM me to book your colour analysis, available online or in person. Book before 31st August for just £157 (less than the price of a getting your hair coloured - hair colour advice included). ✨💫

I’ve had my social media accounts since 2018… and somehow never actually introduced myself properly! 🙈

Mind you, I have probably changed a bit since then anyway! So, whether you’ve been here a while or you've just joined me - hello and welcome! Here are 10 things about me!

🎨 I’m a personal stylist and colour consultant, trained by the brilliant Imogen Lamport back in 2018 - since then, I’ve helped hundreds of women (and a few men!) discover their best colours and reconnect with their style confidence.

💫 My approach to styling isn’t really about the clothes - it’s about personality and helping you to show up as the most you version of you.

🌍 I’ve lived in France and Bermuda - which may explain my love for only the best beaches, and French style.

💼 I had a career as an account handler in advertising - deadlines, drama and deep friendships forged in stress! It took a failed upholstery course and a baby to make me finally decide on personal styling!

🎭 I love TV and comedy and in June this year, I lived out a lifelong dream by playing Margo Leadbetter on stage. It was one of the most joyful and special experiences of my life (friends and family travelled from all corners of the country to see it and it felt a bit like my wedding!).

🍞 I’ve also played Nigel Slater’s stepmum in Toast, and he came to opening night. No pressure, just a national treasure in the audience!

👩‍👦 I have an 11-year-old son and we’ve taken an alternative education path - it’s challenging, rewarding, and exactly right for him. Mainstream was never really our thing.

🌍 I’ve always had the travel bug - I flew solo to Africa to visit my auntie when I was 8 (what were my parents thinking?), I took 6 months off in my 30s to travel the world. I haven’t actually been abroad since 2019 - good thing I packed it in early!

🧠 I can be prone to health anxiety (thanks perimenopause), but it’s made me fascinated by alternative health. I’ve learned a lot through my son’s psoriasis journey and am obsessed with podcasts on biohacking, gut health, hormones and healing.

🥂 I don’t drink much these days, but when I do it’s with full Gen X flair - big laughs, bubbles and silly conversations!

💄 Apparently it's Lipstick Day today, so what better time to talk about one of my favourite colours: RED 💄

Red is full of energy and confidence, but it’s also a colour that many people shy away from. Clients are often surprised (or relieved) that red is in their palette at all. But rest assured, there is a red for everyone. You might just need help finding the right shade.

Psychologically, it’s a powerful colour to wear - one I always wear if I'm feeling a bit flat, tired or lacking in energy. It has been proven to boost confidence and energy. It draws attention, makes a statement and people are naturally drawn to it - when you wear it, they’re drawn to you.

Wearing red doesn’t always have to mean head-to-toe drama. I also love a red accessory. A red shoe paired with a red lip or nail with a neutral outfit is one of my personal favourites - subtle yet confident.

If you're unsure which shade of red is yours, that’s where colour analysis comes in.

And if you’re ready to find YOUR red — let’s do it!
📩 DM me to book your personal colour consultation. There’s one out there with your name on it waiting for you. ❤️

This Lipstick Day, I encourage you to rediscover red. Swipe on a bold red lip.
Top tip: if you're a bit scared of a bold red lip, wear it round the house a couple of times first so that you get used to seeing it in the mirror before you head out!

✨ Self Care Day = New Hair Colour ✨

I’m off to the hairdressers today, and this time I'm demanding to see the hair swatches 🎨 Because two hair colours ago… it went VERY wrong.

I’d asked for a neutral-warm blonde. What I got? An icy, ashy blonde that clashed with my warm skin tone so badly I looked about 100 👵🏻 Not quite what I was hoping for - flat, tired and washed out. £200 and a minor identity crisis later, I walked out feeling a bit cross! Thankfully, a warm toner and a bit of time saved the day, but the lesson stuck.

💡 Knowing your colours is ESSENTIAL when it comes to getting your hair coloured.

You’re either cool or warm, but there are some hair colours that sit in a flattering middle neutral territory - which is what I usually opt for.

🎨 Warm skin tones are best in:
• Golden blonde
• Honey and caramel
• Copper, auburn, and rich chestnut
• Warm chocolate brown
• Buttery balayage
• Strawberry blonde

🎨 Cool skin tones are best with:
• Ashy blonde
• Platinum or icy silver
• Cool brown
• Jet black
• Burgundy or blue-black
• Soft rose or pastel lilac tones

🤎 Neutral-friendly shades (work best when slightly tipped toward your undertone):
• Soft mocha
• Rose gold
• Mushroom brown
• Beige blonde
• Sandy caramel

If you’ve ever walked out of the salon disappointed or spent hundreds fixing a hair colour, it might be the undertone.

🎯 My Colour Analysis service is just £157 until the end of August — and you only need to do it once, not every 6 weeks! You’ll leave with a full swatch fan tailored to YOUR skin tone (not a guess, not a trend). And it could save you hundreds over the years in salon mistakes 🙌

🧡🖤 Is Orange is the new Black? 🧡🖤

Colour analysis is usually about expanding your colour choice and exploring how colour interacts with your skin tone, eye colour, and natural contrast. Most of my clients are surprised at the vast range of colours in their palettes.

But there are a couple of exceptions and here's one - orange! Orange never appears in a cool palette. Not once. Not ever.

That’s because orange, by its very nature, is warm and can't be made cool. I have bad news about black too, but we'll save that for another day!

In the 18-palette Absolute Colour System, I look at three key properties of colour:
🎨 Temperature – warm or cool?
🌓 Depth – light or deep?
🌫️ Clarity – bright and clear or soft and muted?

Even within the warm palettes, oranges vary. A warm & soft palette (intriguing) might wear a gentle terracotta or peach. A warm & bright palette (zesty or rich) suits vivid tangerine tones. A deep, warm and toasted palette (exotic) looks amazing in burnt orange or paprika.

If you're wondering why some oranges light you up and others fall flat - or why orange might be making you feel “blah” or look ill (without some serious intervention from clever makeup) - that’s exactly what a colour analysis can reveal.

✨ Stay tuned for more on reds, blues, pinks, greens, neutrals, even metals!

Curious about your palette? My colour analysis (online or in-person) will give you answers, clarity, and confidence for less than a getting your hair coloured (advice on hair colour also included)!

🧡 Because when you know your colours, shopping - and styling - becomes much more fun. Get in touch to find out more!
