Stop leading with your services. They’re not what makes you different. 🔥 🧠

If your website just lists what you offer, you're blending in with every other brand in your space.

But when you lead with your story, your values, your point of view, your journey, that’s when people connect. That’s when they feel something. And people buy based on how you make them feel.

Selling with services might get you on a list.

Selling with soul gets you remembered ✨

tinyBox Creative turns 1 year old! 🎂 🥂

What a year it’s been.

Great relationships have been forged and existing ones strengthened beyond where we thought they’d go.

Thank you to all of our clients. You were all there at the beginning of this journey, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with you.

It’s been extremely busy but we’ll be getting case studies up soon to show off some of the great brands and websites we’ve brought to life in partnership with passionate founders.

Here’s to the next year and beyond 🍻

Confused visitors don’t convert 🧭 🧱

If your website is packed with copy and no clear message, people won’t stick around to figure it out. They’ll leave.

Too many brands try to explain everything at once. The result? Pages full of text, layered with jargon, and missing the one thing that matters most: clarity.

Simplify your offer. Break it into key areas. Make it easy for people to understand what you do and how you can help.

We work with brands to make sure their message is simple, structured, and easy to engage with. If yours feels overwhelming or unclear, it’s worth fixing.

Because if you confuse, you lose 😵‍💫

A full-scale website isn’t always the right place to start 👇🌱

For early-stage founders, a well-designed microsite can be the perfect launchpad. It's lean, focused and affordable. Just a simple four-page setup that tells your story clearly and professionally.

It’s not just about having a site. It’s about having the right presence from day one. Something you can confidently share with investors, customers and partners.

And the best part? You can build on it over time. Add pages, content, functionality, whatever your growth calls for.

Start small, but start smart.

Check this microsite out (link in comments) we've just launched for Forza Consulting to get them started on their new venture. Also, if you're looking for quality tech recruitment from people who care, hit them up!

Launching a new website? Don’t forget your URLs 🧭 🛠️

When you move from an old site to a new one, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of the redesign and overlook the small details that make a big impact. URL mapping is one of them.

If your old URLs lead to dead ends, you risk losing hard-earned SEO value, keyword rankings, and the backlinks you’ve built over time.

That’s why taking the time to set up proper redirects is crucial. It keeps your content findable, protects your traffic, and ensures your website’s authority stays intact.

It might not be the flashiest part of a launch, but it’s one of the most important.

Your brand strategy report can do more than sit in a folder 💡🤖

If you’ve got 6,000 to 7,000 words capturing your brand’s essence like your vision, voice, audience and positioning, you’ve already built something powerful.

That same report can give AI the deep context it needs to help you ideate, create and make decisions that stay true to your brand.

It becomes more than a document. It becomes a reference point you can use in lots of ways.

Whether you’re writing, strategising or experimenting, AI can draw from that foundation if you feed it right.

Just be mindful of privacy. Not all AI tools are equal when it comes to protecting sensitive information, so it’s worth choosing carefully.

Done well, this approach leverages your brand workshop report to create a living, thinking tool.

Send me a DM if you're searching for a foundation for your brand, it's what we do!

Small business isn’t a target audience 🎯📊

It’s a broad category that covers everything from a three-person team working out of a co-working space… to a company turning over £10 million with 50 staff and layers of decision-makers.

So when a brand says it “targets small businesses,” that can mean very different things depending on who’s listening.

Are you speaking to founders juggling every part of the business themselves? Or to more established teams with dedicated departments and defined processes?

Getting clear on the size, setup and structure of the businesses you want to reach makes your marketing far more effective.

The more specific you are, the easier it is for the right people to see that your brand is built with them in mind.

Is your website cookie compliant? 🍪 ⚠️

If your site drops cookies before a user gives their consent, you’re not compliant with UK law.

That includes things like analytics tools, personalisation features, and third-party scripts that track behaviour. None of it should activate until the user has explicitly said “yes”.

The rules are clear: consent needs to be informed, specific, and freely given. Pre-ticked boxes and passive notices don’t count.

If you’re relying on a banner that just says “By using this site, you agree…”, it’s time for a rethink.

Because beyond legal risk, there’s trust at stake. Visitors are paying more attention to how their data is handled, and getting this right shows you’re taking it seriously.

The good news? It’s fixable. With the right setup, you can respect privacy and still gather the data you need to improve your site.

We recommend using Cookie Yes. It’s a free tool that keeps you compliant and manages cookie acceptance, along with options to keep a live cookie table in your privacy policy so your users are always informed.

A website without a story is just a brochure 📉 📖

There’s a big difference between a website that lists what you do and one that tells people who you are.

Leading with services is common. “We do this, we do that, here are our awards.” But that approach doesn’t create a connection, and connection is what cuts through the noise.

If you’ve done the work to understand your audience, and you tell your story clearly on your site, you start to look different. More human. More relatable.

That’s when your website becomes effective.

The visuals matter, but the story matters just as much. Without it, you risk spending a lot on something that won’t actually work.

The story needs to come first, every time!

Weak passwords are one of the easiest ways into your website 🔐 ⚠️

We ran a website training session recently when someone asked a really smart question:

“If strong passwords are best practice, is there a way to enforce them?”

The answer is yes, and it’s something I recommend to every business using WordPress.

A plugin called Wordfence (free and widely used) lets you set a policy for password strength. So if someone tries to create a weak password, it simply won’t let them.

Simple fix. Big impact.

Because the reality is, even with the best advice, not everyone will remember to follow it.

Putting systems like this in place helps protect your site from avoidable vulnerabilities, without needing to constantly chase people to do the right thing!

If you’re managing a WordPress site and don’t already have Wordfence installed, it’s well worth looking into!
