We wanted to take a moment to recognise this man, Richard Mundy. For 29 years, Richard operated and ran Lovely Cards in Camberley. quite possibly, one of the town's hardest-working businessmen, he opened his card and gift shop seven days a week, year after year.

Last week, those doors closed for the final time, allowing Richard to retire, many years after the so-called 'traditional' retirement age. Think about what that span of time represents. Three decades that brought recessions, a global pandemic, and a seismic shift in the way people send cards and mark life's occasions. Through all of it, Richard showed up.

But Lovely Cards was never just a shop. It was a community hub. Customers of all ages would pop in, not always to buy something, but for a chat, a stamp, or simply a familiar face. That's rare. That kind of business isn't just retail, it's the fabric of a town.

From all of us at Conquest Social Media, thank you, Richard, for your years of hard work, commitment, and service to Camberley.

A big step for us here at Conquest Social Media this week as we’re now officially a registered education supplier with Incensu Ltd. It means we can work more closely with schools, trusts, and education providers who are looking to level up their marketing, social media, and overall digital presence.

We know the education space is more competitive than ever, whether it’s attracting students, recruiting great staff, or just getting your message heard. That’s where we come in. What a day at last week’s Business In Surrey exhibition at Sandown. The room was absolutely brimming with energy, a real buzz from start to finish and a brilliant showcase of the local business community at its best.

Huge credit to the organisers for such a well-executed event 👏 It was fantastic catching up with so many familiar faces, as well as meeting plenty of new ones. Even better, we had some great conversations with businesses keen to learn more about how we can support their social media.

Safe to say, it made a lasting impression… we’ve already signed up for the next one in October! Looking forward to doing it all again 🙌

Ever wonder who’s actually reading your posts? Likes and followers are nice, but they don’t pay the bills. What really counts is a metric rarely spoken about: a 'qualified reader' is someone in your target audience who stops scrolling, clicks “see more,” and actually absorbs your content. These are decision-makers, potential clients, people who can take action.

Over the course of a month, for a client's posts, we saw over 4,100 qualified readers, with 87% at MD level or higher, and a 7% click-through rate, well above the platform average.

The content didn’t change. The difference? We made sure it landed in front of the right people, not just peers who liked it and scrolled on. The easiest way to think about it is that counting impressions alone is like counting the people who pass by your poster advert. The real value metric is those who actually stop to look and digest the message.
