From a very early age, Sam knew he wanted his career to involve cars. Following brief work experience stints at both Autocar and Fast Car magazines, his natural talent in both writing and photography soon shone through, leading him to cut his teeth with a three-year stretch as Features Writer for the UK’s largest Japanese tuning magazine, Banzai. Alongside James, Sam has developed EV Performance, along with taking on freelance PR campaigns for an ever-expanding amount of clients he’s met through the automotive world. Sam regularly takes to the track, has an unashamed obsession with the Nurburgring Nordschleife, and a self confessed weakness for ageing Hondas. Across his numerous clients, Sam’s work is viewed by over half a million people each day. And counting…

With over 12 years of marketing and web development experience, James has harnessed his skills to help steer countless national and international companies to commercial success. Building his expertise from the very start of the digital boom, James continually adapts his business and marketing strategies to ensure he keeps on top of the very latest digital trends. A certified Google Partner and social media specialist, James’ career has spanned the publishing, software, agricultural, retail and real estate industries, with his most recent role being Head of Marketing, Development and Films for Unity Media plc. This covered the company’s portfolio of five renowned automotive magazine titles, along with some of the UK’s biggest business-to-business trade magazines. Personally, James has a healthy interest in cars and the environment, which lead him to develop one of the world’s most popular electric vehicle websites, EV Performance.

Here are a few of our photos from this weekend. Plugged In Media headed to the South of England Event Centre for the third event we’ve worked on this year: the .

Once again, Plugged In Media were proud to support all aspects of the marketing, playing a key role in shaping and promoting the event. We’re thrilled to report a 10% increase in attendance and show car bookings for 2025, with thousands of pre-2005 Fords on display - some of the finest examples from across the UK and beyond. A great step forward in driving year-on-year growth and revenue.

Car show two of 2025 – done and dusted!

The monster that is Japfest Silverstone took over the circuit on Sunday, and what a way to kick off the Silverstone series.

Despite a few challenges outside of our control, we’re proud to have:
✅ Sold out ahead of the event
✅ Delivered a year-on-year revenue increase
✅ Delivered a year-on-year social stats increase
✅ Ensured all marketing and servicing comms hit the mark with the right audience
✅ Create some incredible content and capturing some amazing photos/videos on the day

A huge effort from everyone involved – this is what event marketing at scale looks like.

Eight years of Plugged In Media!
April marks eight years since I launched Plugged In Media, and what a journey it’s been! This month, I’m doing something I rarely do, taking a moment to celebrate our achievements.

First up: Simply making it to year eight.
Running a business is no small feat, and sometimes, the toughest client is the business itself. We all know the statistics on startup survival rates, so reaching this milestone feels especially significant.

Navigating challenges like Brexit and Covid - some of the toughest economic periods in recent history - has tested us and our clients in ways we never imagined. But through resilience, adaptability, and a passion for what we do, Plugged In Media has continued to grow.

It's incredible to think that it has already been six remarkable years since Plugged In Media transformed from a mere idea into a thriving marketing agency! Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to each and every individual and company that has stood by us during this time.

Despite facing considerable challenges over the past couple of years, including our transition from Kent to Cambridgeshire, Plugged In Media prevailed, ensuring that our clients received nothing short of exceptional service. As a result, we are now poised to make this year our best one yet!

Looking forward, we have an exciting vision for 2023, which includes the following objectives:
- Enhancing our service offerings for even greater results
- Introducing a new support platform tailored to our client's needs

Show number 5 of 5 complete!

Sunday marked the end of the car show season for us at Plugged In Media. And it ended with an absolute cracker, TRAX Silverstone. Although, one of the most popular shows we work on, we had some marketing hurdles from the start. Despite these challenges we were still able to pack out Silverstone!

The event was stacked with features including thousands of display cars, drifting, Monster Energy and some pretty epic exhibitors, so certainly helped when it came to marketing!

The event itself was certainly one of our favourites! Despite being busy all day we managed to capture some photos for future promotions. Here a few (9) of our favourites.

Now our weekends are free we're looking to get to some decent car shows. Drop a comment on the one's I must visit!

Another successful car show complete ✔️ With over 12,000 people packed into Silverstone showcasing the very best Japanese cars in Europe - it was epic.

Throughout 2021 we've been working with Fast Car Entertainment to deliver a marketing plan to maximise ticket sales and exposure of the show. So far Ford Fair and Japfest has been insane 🤩 with TRAX Silverstone in October, we CAN NOT WAIT!

Apologise for the lack of communication. We promise we'll keep you updated more with ongoing projects and work 🙏 We know you love it 😉
